DTC U2107?

So my 10' SHO is still stumbling and missing at virtually all RPM's and engine loads. Its drivable, but in no way acceptable. I have loaded the stock tune back in, cleared all the DTC's, reloaded the 4+, replaced and gapped the plugs, inspected the knock sensor wiring and wrapped it where it passes over the edge of the engine block.   The oil is always changed, the air filter is new, tires aired up, tank is full of 93....

I just pulled the DTC codes this morning and the only one that came up was U2107. I can't find this code anywhere online that applies to the SHO, or even a ford for that matter!

Does anyone know what the code is, or what the hell is wrong with this car!!

U2107 Lost Communications with Body Control System

Don't have a detailed explanation, but doesn't seem related to the problems you are having.   Any signs of oil leak from the valve cover?  Oil in intake tract or in intercooler?  Do you have a datalogging device that can be analyzed?

Most likely suspect right now is fuel injector(s) leak/stuck.  I don't think a leaky turbo would cause these symptoms, though.  Very unlikely to be a coil, but could be.  And finally, the PCM itself can't be ruled out if the aforementioned items check out.

Grounds used to be a problem on Gen I/II SHOs, could they be suspect here?  Anyone experience this type of issue?

Only ones I could find close to with some chance.

Will a stuck fuel injector just show up as a cylinder# misfire? I routinely get that DTC as well. If not, I assume swapping coils from one cylinder to the problem cylinder could eliminate everything but the injector... I may run a compression check on all 6 cylinders just for peace of mind after reading about the cracked cylinder another member had.

It could!  I would do all the things you have listed, great troubleshooting ideas that never get old.

The code like SHOdded mentioned earlier is a communication code,it is typically not a big deal as it can be anything that happens for a split  second, best thing to do is to clear it and remove the ground on battery for about an hour, best of my knowledge it should not return, also like Rich related earlier,a communication code in my perspective is nothing to be alarmed of.

A stock injector could definitely cause a misfire. We actually have a 13 here that had an injector issue and we have been chasing it for a little bit now, replaced the injector and it's running as it should now!

I did a bit of researching last night on injector replacement just to get a ballpark on how much it could be and the price varied from $125 to $35! the part number for the $35 injector was Motorcraft #CM5165. All the others were in the $100-$125 range, and the part numbers and manufacturers were all different. Does anyone know if that part number is for the DI injector for the Ecoboost or for the N/A 3.5 in the taurus? I selected 3.5 Ecoboost for engine config and that part was included.

Awesome, atlas its not super pricey like the power stroke injectors, had to have 8 of those bad boys rebuild last year and it was over $1500!

So, the car is still hesitating and stumbling at virtually all rpms, but its not giving me the misfire dtc anymore, so i have no starting point on what cylinder to look at. It had been the #6 pretty regularly, so ill see if the local ford shop can't run some tests or something to check individual components.

How many miles on your SHO? After changing the plugs was there any oil inside the plug well? cause cyliner #6 the one by the rear drivers side is very vulnerable for oil and also do you recall the condition of the bottom coil boot? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/01/qapapysa.jpg ,also if that #6 boot is torn, can cause issues.

This is true... BUT I found 2+" of oil in that well (#6) after 6 months when I was recapping plugs for the tune... no symptoms related to operation as the coil seals the plug. This oil leak is caused by head gasket falure or /and failure of a separate gasket for the well itself.... just fire risk... that won't cause engine running problems though... had mine fixed!
