Police interceptor center caps not seating?

Sorry if this has been discussed but I searched and couldn't come up with anything?

I have a 2014 SHO PP with the 20's obviously. Car came with the chrome closed style lug nut. I got a set of the 18" police interceptor wheels with metal Ford police interceptor center caps.

I think the caps are just supposed to grab the lug nuts but I can't get them on and they don't seat and grab anything. The tops of the lug nuts hit the bottom of the center caps and the folded metal part that I think should grab the lug nut doesn't go down to the lug nut far enough.

I ordered a set of lug nuts for the police interceptor Taurus that are smaller and open style. Not sure if that will help as I'm thinking the stud will now hit the bottom of the center cap like my chrome lug nuts do....I hope it works since the lugs were 80$ even with wholesale pricing.

Anyone know about this?

Yes u need the lug nuts from a PI vehicle. The part of it that the cap snaps on is different.

Thanks Jason....So I should be good then. I still haven't had a chance to mess with my VCM btw.
