2013+ w/ PP favor needed

For those with the PP, can you take a look at your caliper pistons (front) and see if they are cross drilled like the ones in the picture?

once I take my wheels off, I can check for you. no way to tell with wheels on. why do you want to know that?

Thanks. I used the mirror that comes with the car to check the brakes and even though I can see the pistons somewhat, I can't see any cross drilling. Figured I would ask to see if Car & Driver was just smoking crack or a screw up/ change by Ford.

I would think to see it would require doing a brake job.

Negative, the pads have to be out of caliper in order to see inside of a piston.

Coming from the M/C world, Brembo had cross drilled pistons. The drilled side was up against the pad and could be clearly seen. I would "assume" the same engineering design was used for us unless Ford thought the drilled section performed better behind the piston seal (?).

From my understanding the holes are drilled on the end that touches the pad to reduce heat transfer.
