SCTX4 - What can it do for me?

I'm planning to buy the SCTx4 for my 2011 Titanium Flex with Ecoboost, but can't seem to find enough info as to what it will do. Everything out there is very general ... lots of horsepower, saves gas...

Any help with details? Do I need a special tune or does it already have everything installed for a basic setup?
Also on Amazon it said it doesn't fit my car ... any clues?

The tunes we use with the sct devices are custom tunes from unleashed. He generally has to build a tune based on your vehicles computer strategy code.  Fancy name for it's program

Better crisper shifts, torque management tweaked, upped boost levels are a few to add.

Buying tuning device not from a tuner will net you about a $250 charge from selected tuner for lifetime tunes.

IMO buying from the tuner you choose would be a good idea and a SHOw of support to the company.

Good luck!

The SCT device has preloaded tunes for many vehicles, don't know if the Flex EB is one of them.  But the tunes will not be anywhere near as good as what the tuner will provide.  If you are interested in a package deal on the SCT device, here is where you can get one.
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

EcoPowerParts

Yes the Flex is one of them.
Just FYI SCT has added PPE downpipes as an optional tune to their canned tune options. :)

LOL Amazon. It's a great website for a lot of things, modifying cars is not one of them.

The XCAL is going to be your biggest "bang for your buck" of any single mod and it's also either necessary or highly recommended for most other mods, for example you don't NEED a tuner if you decide to add downpipes but they tune can be adjusted to take full advantage of them if you have one. Other mods like the 3 bar MAP or meth injection are going to need custom tuning.

If you're interested in saving a few bucks, I have an XCAL 3 that I have just laying around because I upgraded to an XCAL 4 because I like shiny things and sometimes have more money than brains (what I'm getting at is there's no performance advantages to one or the other) that I would be happy to sell you at a very reasonable price and you could purchase just the tune files from Torrie, the "man behind the curtain" at Unleashed. Torrie responds extremely quickly to emails and has always been great to deal with in my experience, and he will update your tunes as needed as you continue to modify your vehicle, at no cost to you.

Can anyone tell me what the difference between livernois and SCTX4 is? What is better? Which has faster 0-60? Which one is Safer? I did read somewhere livernois noted that these tunes wear out engine parts, pistons etc. Thanks in advance!

I offer custom tuning using the X4 or any of SCT's current devices. The X4 I stock with custom tuning is $ 399. I build the files around your vehicle and your own needs and can be as safe or aggressive as you would like within physical reason.

if you are concerned about longevity check out the ecoboost torture test to see how over engineered these motors are.

I just like the fact you can make it into a 400 hp car at the crank with tune only. I'll be getting one of the sct products from unleashed next spring along with a corsa cat back and hopefully one of those mdesign intakes I saw in another thread. It seems like a solid choice I was intrigue by the one with the smartphone app to load the tunes. Think it's like isct  or something.

Does the iTSX have any drawbacks compared to x4?

Mot go with the X4 due to pricing but if you wanted a bluetooth device to flash from your phone or tablet the iTSX is the only option. I stock it all.
