Newly tuned---having issues.

I have 2010 SHO and I just hit 60,000 miles so I ordered a SCT Livewire TS tuner from torrie at unleashed tuning. the issues that im having is if I would load any of the tunes  wether it be the 87 octane one that comes on it or if its the performance once that torrie has made.
Keep in mind this car is perfectly fine under the stock tune. But with any tune loaded it will studder from 3k rpm and up.  Its worse under the performance one.  If I keep in it under the performance  one it will get worse up top cutting out wise and the check engine light will begin to flash for 1 to 2 mins then stop.
This car is 100% stock other then the tunter, I have a set of ngk6510 spark plugs , a 3 bar map and a 170 t stat on its way but wont be here till later this week.
While im waiting for the other parts to get here i decided to pull the spark plugs, i figured that they were the originals and they would be in pretty bad upon removal but to my surprise they were all in pretty good condition. They were all gapped betwwen .036 and .038 i regapped em all at .030 and reinstalled for the time being.

This alone actually made a pretty big difference while the car was on a performance tune and didnt really cut out like it did before. Pulls felt a lot smoother bu it still seems like it studdered sometimes through out pulls and bit more on the top end. And sometimes it seemed like there was some detonation on the top end.
Not wanting to risk hurting anything i decided to try and load the canned 87 octane tune that comes on the device from sct. ( I run premium, 92 octane). Tried that and it didnt seem to bad but i stil heard a bit of detonation on the top end and i feel a weird chatter between 1-2 gear under WOT.
Almost seems like the front wheels are hopping but the traction control light doesnt blink or anything.

Not sure why it would detonate at all under the 87 octane tune while im running strictly 92. Felt like i would be completely fine with that tune.
One  thing that im not sure of is that im running the factory 2 bar map sensor which form what I read they like seeing boost above 14.xx and on all of the tunes including the 87 octane one, i was getting a max boost of around 15.27 psi.

To sum it up, my car is studdering under WOT  and feeling a weird chatter between shifts and seems to be doing some detonation at WOT even though my factory plugs are gapped at .030.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

CEL? Codes?  Are you reading the MAP using Livewire/gauge/Torque?  Checked the turbo piping for looseness/cracking?  Knock sensor wires for chafing?

Send the datalogs to Torrie & he'll figure it out.  I know he recommends 0.028 for the gap, you could try that with the performance tune.  I don't know how good the stock SCT tune would be.  Practically no one runs that AFAIK.

TSB 10-20-8 might apply here, but I can't pull up a PDF.  Maybe someone could post it for us?

I tried reading and checking the code when the Check engine liht was and was not blinking and the livewire came back with no codes each time, so im not sure whats going on there. Also I was wondering why the knock sensors arent pulling timing if they are needed to.

To be honest, im pretty new with the livewire device and i am not entirely sure how to data log and save it as a file and send it off to torrie. All the readings im getting are directly off the livewire device. Not entirely sure which reading is wat and what they all stand for though.

This might get more attention if moved to the Unleashed section.

Torrie may be more apt to reading it & replying, rather than being categorized under the General Info section.

Yeah, the manual from SCT is always kinda skimpy!  Best to talk with Torrie directly.

Here and here is a general idea of what you will be doing, and what it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcRGQsoDObU#t=52 looks like in action on the device (52 second mark).  The latest Live Link software is here should you need to use it.  Windows-only at the current time, via a USB port on the device.

I might just end up waiting later this week after I install the 3 bar map, colder plugs and the 170 thermastat before I datalog and send it.  Will the map sensor cause any if these issues I'm having? I've hit 15.2 psi in a few different tunes.

I did a couple of pulls on my way to work this morning on the preloaded 87 tune and everything seemed  fine, hit 14.64 psi. My IAT's were much lower around 60 too.

Is the Unleashed tune already set for the 3-bar MAP?  Then you shouldn't be running without the 3-bar installed.  I believe the "preloaded" tune supplied with the SCT device is a 2-bar tune, and as such, would run better than the Unleashed tune in such a scenario.

Basically, a 3-bar tune would call for more boost than a 2-bar MAP can meter with precision.  So the ECU will get faulty data, which leads to bad decisions on its' part.  That is not to imply that the Unleashed tune is calling for more than 14.7 psi, but it is a likely scenario in a WOT/spike situation.

The between shift action is quite possibly wheel hop due to extra power and reduced tranny torque management. It can be a little unnerving if you aren't prepared for it. Mine was originally quite harsh but Torrie's got it dialed in quite nicely now.

If you haven't already, email Torrie for the fastest response.

I have talked to Torrie about so w of the issues and I decided not to really get too far I to it as my parts will be here in several days. I'm justvfryi g to see if all these symptoms are normal or not. The tunes I got from Torrie are for the car in stock condition aswell.

I loaded the 87 octane sct pre tune because I figured that tune would be the least aggressive and would work fine for the time being especially since I run 92 octane. Bit the pinging is still there and I saw boost of 15.22.  Now if that's spiked or notim not sure. Looks like I need to do some data logging. Trying to take it real easy until I get my parts.

As for the  shifting it feels like wheel hop but I figured the traction control light would blink but it doesn't.

As of right now I'm not too concerned about my custom tuning through Torrie as we have been in contact about some issues and have decided to wait till I get my parts.
But I am concerned that I'm still seeing the same symptoms with the preloaded 87 octane tune. I would think I should be able to run that with 0 issues since I gapped my plugs to .030.

Sorry for the long posting but I'm trying to be as thurow as possible.

Based on the behavior of my car when you mess with the torque management I'm guessing it affects the TC threshold as well.

I would highly suggest going through the data log/tune tweak process. I'm on my 10th revision and the car is just awesome.

Spoolin-SVT

Yeah that could be the case. The pull I made this morning felt perfectly fine with no pinging or wheel hope but then again the boost only hit a max of 14.6 compared to 15.22 last night and my IAT's were quite a bit cooler this morning.

I guess I will have try and get sone data logging in tonight after work to see what's going on.

Yes if you have not datalogged you really need to do so.  I had some of your symptoms, Torrie had most of them worked out on the first datalogging pass.  As FoMoCoSHO I am on like my 8th revision and each one gets better :)  Torrie is the best, he will get you fixed if you give him the data he needs.

Most of the time its plug related especially on a vehicle with 60K miles and stock plugs. I am pretty certain I have this guy squared away although without a name I am not sure who the OP is exactly.

I am not promoting or being bias in any fashion, currently I was one of the first ones to receive the LMS V8 TUNE and could not be happier, currently running mid to low 12's,and still have the grin on my face and wouldnt look back for anything else, except for the cars behind me,ha ha,lol,IF you need to get the full potential out of your vehicle with tweaks and revisions you have to datalog.then go with Torrie,If you want a basic performance tune thats easy to install with top notch performance go with Livernois Motorsports ,just my 2cent.
