Installing thermostat with jiggle valve

When I install the new 160 degree thermostat from LMS, I am assuming the jiggle valve needs to be at the 12 o'clock position. Is this correct?

I don't think it matters.  I just set mine in the way I was holding it.  No problems.

I stand corrected.  12 o'clock it is.

Just read a couple things on a Nissan forum and random truck forum saying 12 is right position for the jiggle valve (pin)...but I'm no expert and will now probably check mine if need be. Something about 12 position allowing air to move so you don't get any pockets in there.

Mine was at the 7 o'clock position. My random luck couldn't be more like 10 or 11...go figure

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

You were right. Per LME the jiggle valve in these cars is not required to be in 12 o'clock position. Some cars may have a small notch in the gasket that requires to be lined up though.

I would put more credence in what Stant and other  T Stat Manufacturers have to say ....
