There seems to be a lot more options with the 255/35/20 tire size. You lose just over 1.5" overall height. Just curious if anyone else tried this size tire?

I personally like the comfort that the 1.5" of sidewall add (for most these tires it looks like closer to 1" less sidewall).  With the 35 profile size tire you would decrease the weight of each tire 5-7# and significantly improve low end final drive ratios possibly improving launch acceleration early.... However, along with the positives is a potential decrease in acceleration at high speeds (60-70mph and above) as well as a lowered top speed and decreased mileage due to about 50-60 more tire revs per mile.  Also, the size you list is rated for an 8.5-9" wheel width by most manufacturers.  The OEMs on the SHO are 8"... So new wheels and spacer use is a possible consideration.

However, if you have a lowered ride or don't mind an extra half inch of open space in the wheel well opening.... Go for it.  Just be ready for performance changes and a few extra bucks for a good install.

Hopefully Lanson will chime in here.  He's really our resident expert on this kind of thing as well as auto sound systems.

I had them on my other car and the ride was rough but the good part they were considerably cheaper in that particular size.

HANKOOK - Ventus V12 Evo 255/45ZR20 rubber ......

It's what I had on my SHO ..... awesome summer performance tire .

I wouldn't go with 35 rubber either ..... too harsh of a ride.

Thanks for the replies.

I need A/S so I lose the summer tire options.

Look at the Continentals...

Too bad.... I only need summer tires here. My next will almost certainly be Ventus v2s... GRAT performance, great appearance, and bang for the buck.
