Finally installed my Devils Own meth kit.

All I can say is wow! Kit went in very nice. Using the washer reservoir to hold my 100% meth. I mounted the pump on the driver side under the head light without removing the bumper cover....I have an angle drill. I am using a single #10 jet as close to the throttle body as I can get it, coming on at 8 psi and full in at 12 psi. Took just under 6 hours with me dragging my feet and a couple part runs included.

After many logs with Torrie, this thing tugs! The torque is amazing. Very traction limited with part throttle Rollons in 2nd. Third gear with meth now pulls as hard as 2nd did tuned without meth.

My car has been plagued with oil leakage from the turbos (detonation) so the added benefit is keeping my intake and valves cleaned for the next six months as I save my penny's for a set of ATP snails. Plus since I put the meth on, I've had ZERO detonation!

If your on the fence, jump! You'll love it!

Which kit did you go with?

Here's a great price on meth. If you use the mobile app you get $5 off.

Yeah seriously. This and the Livernois thread finally prompted me to spend some time researching and learning about meth. Now I want it. I just need to find someone competent to install it. I never knew water had the property of unpitied octane.....

When I realized this will have the added benefit of washing the valves and any oil in the intake, it really is a no brainer. More power, much safer, handles any of our pcv deficits.

Damn you!     :)

Here is the kit I bought.

It's been sitting on my shelf for about 6 months. Finally decided to put it on (been waiting on other events to take place first). Sorry for tempting folks, it's just really hard to keep my foot out of the gas and I'm sure most owners here like that feeling too.

Need to get the stage 2. It's well worth the extra money.

The track finally wasn't rained out tonight... On my car with its .pretty meth installation knock issues (used to pull 4 to 7 degrees of timing), the meth and tune at this point (still not done, and zero knock) was worth 0.6 seconds!!!

See sig for times.

Congrats on smashing 12's!

Looking at your times vs mine illustrates a pretty good picture of the benefits of E-85 blending.

The last log I pulled (which incidentally was the pull in my sig) had negative KR at WOT during one point...

Thanks. I know if anything a 12.4 is there for the picking.

As KR is a function of spark advance and measured detonation, it would be interesting to know the spark advance is instead of knock.

I meant total timing. So command - knock = spark advance.

Example. If an engine can handle 18 deg's of total timing, there's three ways to get there:

1. Command 14, KR -4 = 18
2. Command 18, KR 0 = 18
3. Command 22, KR 4 = 18

Knock is a function of how much is commanded, and the detonation point.

It's best to have the command set closest to the "0" KR point.

Thank you for the tutorial.

So looking at a datalog to figure out the commanded value, would it be the highest value at wot with zero KR?

Looking at the last log I saw 17.5

If there is negative KR, does that indicate timing may be able to be added?

91hybrid

All you have to do is look at the spark advance, and the knock value and calculate what the command is at that point.

So if on torque you see the following:

Spark advance = 18
Knock = -4
Then the command is 14 and the computer added timing to get the total spark advance to 18. Does that make sense?

Yes if there is negative kr you could advance the timing until you see + 1, or 2 kr. Anything over 4 kr, you should probably back the timing down to get it closer to zero or at least below 4 kr.
