Recall 2013 Taurus...what Ford tells me...

I entered my vin at Ford's recall website...and it came with the 2 below recalls......I have a 13 SHO......

Can someone tell me what the heck a front halfshaft thing is? lol...I am car stupid.

License Plate lights are an easy swap out, 5 minute job tops.

The half shaft recall is just an inspection.  They will put car on lift and make sure it looks good.  A member here had it fail on his '13 SHO, watch these videos to see what happens:

Front halfshaft is what connects your transmission to the front wheel, literally a shaft.  Called a half shaft because a full shaft would connect both wheels together directly, as in the days of solid axle front wheel drive rear ends.  The shaft is "broken" into 2 parts, one for the left front wheel, and one for the right.  Kinda like two oars rowing a boat ;)

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!
