So I decided to take my 2011 Taurus SHO non PP to the track last Friday night and see what it would do. The only track around me is an 1/8th of a mile.... so, no 1/4.... BUT it was still fun. I got there and had Airaid intake, and LMS stage 4 tune, and that was it. So I got out there and ran my first run by myself and had a reaction time of .701 (slow) and a 60' of 2.107 (SLOW) and a 1/8th of 8.746 at 81.626mph.... needless to say, I wasn't too happy with that performance, so I went again and ran reaction time of .558 (little better) with a 60' of 1.989 (better) and an 1/8th of 8.642 against a new VW GTI Turbo (light and quick). I then lined up against a 2011 Ford Mustang 5.0 with intake, tune, and race slicks..... I lost by half a second... I ran a 8.654, and he ran an 8.110. Good race! I will post video soon of that one. I then decided to go back to my car, and open the hood and let her cool down, and while she was cooling off I plugged in my tuner, and slapped the 4+ tune on to see what it would do....

I got done, and lined up against an LS6 Corvette with intake, tune, and race slicks. I ran my best time of the night at 8.415 at 82.742 mph.... lost.... but made significant improvement over the standard Stage 4 tune. I shaved about .2 - .3 off my ET going with the higher tune. I got tired of losing, so I lined up by myself for the last run, and ran another 8.477 on the last run of the night. I woke up Saturday morning with a ring of the doorbell.... FED EX!!!!!! BOOM! there is a package from LMS with my new plugs pre gapped, and my new cooler thermostat, and then later in the day I got my 3 Bar Sensor in the mail box! WHAT A DAY! So now I called Anthony up at LMS and told him what I got in the mail, and he said he would get working on a new tune for me called the Stage 4+X. Told me it required the cooler thermostat, and the plugs, and the 3 bar sensor, along with 93 octane fuel ONLY. So, next time, I am hoping to surprise these guys with a MUCH better time. A quick funny story to end this crazy long thing... The first time I rolled up to run the 1/8th, the guy lining everyone up walked up to me and said "You don't have a helmet.... but you are in a Taurus 4 door, so you don't need one, just stay out of the water" At first I was happy I didn't need a helmet! I lined up with the Mustang, and got to the end just .5 seconds after him, and we got to the ticket booth to get our times, and the guy stopped me, and said "The tower called and said "that rocket needs a helmet!" what is that thing anyway??" I simply said.... "it's just a Taurus!"

made me feel good!
