Went to the dealer today for another comp oil change, the service advisor, cool guy said help your self to some free coffee n donuts n soda, not bad good service, resolved issue with the recall for 2013 sho, license lamp assembly replacement and also advised me to do a tire rotation, front are half gone and the rear he stated have more meat,so basically our cars pull more in the front than the rear,f1s have about 11k on them. While waiting saw a white brand new police interceptor by the lot all wrapped up with lights on the grille and a spot light by the drivers door, looked pretty cool, had a retail sticker of 33,100.

Not necessarily true, the max split is 45/55 f/r and my rears are worn more this time around. I thought my tires weren't rotated but a tech I know verified they were. Kinda scratching my head on this one. Lots of runs at the strip and pretty aggressive driving so who knows.

Isn't AWD engaged only when slip is detected?  So the trans should be in FWD most of the time, unless, as mentioned, you drive aggressively, or in bad road conditions.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

And then there's this...

" The Haldex system is nominally set to a torque split of 55 percent front/45 percent rear, but it can shift 100 percent to the front or rear wheels as necessary."

In short, not a Haldex system.  Another reason we need to get those Aussie cars over here :)

I have read in multiple places that all 3.5 ecoboost is haldex due to the higher torque requirements. I will dig into the manuals to see what I can find out. I do know that when troubleshooting awd binding issues, the tech is able to send 90 percent of the power to the rear. What is unclear is whether that is total engine power, or power "available" to the rear. Its really frustrating how little official info is available about our system.

In any case, keep in mind what the trans mfr designs the system to be capable of does not equal what the manufacturer implements in production.  It does open the door to the possibility that a hack can be made by the owner, but the last trip down that road by 4DR led to a dead-end alley due to time & cost involved.

Exactly 4 weeks after I bought my 10' SHO, I hit some black ice (it was February last year) and went up a curb. My whole steering system and the passenger side tie rod had to be replaced. I can confirm that when the tow driver backed my car off the curb and pulled it forward, both rear wheels were the only ones moving. The fronts were locked up. As far as wether or not 365 hp was going to the back tires is another mystery altogether. Moral of the story, if need be, the rear end can power the car on its own.
