Hey guys,

I am trying to plan what I will do to my Flex next, my goal is not really any more performance, but more to make sure my setup is as safe as possible.  My plan is next weekend to pop the hose going to the intercooler, and check how much oil is in their, as well as vacuum it out.  My thought is if their is not a lot of oil in their, I will do two aeroforce gauges, one to monitor boost and knock, the other for afr bank one and two, then do a catch can and 3 bar map later in the year.  If their is a ton of oil, thinking I will do the catch can first, then the gauges and map sensor toward the end of the year.  Cant afford to do both at once now without wife killing me.  What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Thanks as always

Since no one else has posted I'll put in my 2 cents.

For a easy way to monitor your a/f I'd just use the torque app on your phone if you have an android device. That way you can still monitor it and still save some money to do the catch can. Then later in the year do the gauges. I put a manual boost gauge in and found out I was running 21 psi unintentionally.  Since the stock map sensor only reads 14.2 psi you won't be able to see anything higher than that if you are using obd2 data.

So #1 use phone to monitor a/f for now.
#2 catch can
#3 install 3 bar and or manual boost gauge.

Look into the transmission cooler retrofit, its around $300 and some change from Torrie or the dealer.

Thanks guys, wasinger3000, where did you sneak the boost line thru the firewall, I looked like a year ago and quickly got fed up.  Tranny cooler is another good idea I had not thought of.

I had a hell of a time trying to find a good spot. I finally just went through the large rubber grommet that enters the cabin on the drivers side. it's where the main wiring harness goes to the BCM.  I'll get a picture of it.

I think that grommet is pictured in Lanson's audio build for the Flex also.  I think he had a hard time getting a good pic due to location.  Let me see if I can pull up that thread.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I have a CAD of its location that I'll post when. I get home.

Wow never even dawned at me to look at Lanson's thread (I stay away from it because it would give me expensive ideas).  If that grommet exists on the 2012 that is awesome!
