Getting serious.... please check out this '13 SHO

Hyundai dealer will buy my Sonata at what my buyout is, so I'm about to get serious with finding the perfect used '13 SHO.

I'm torn on getting the PP or a non-PP with adaptive cruise/collision warning.  I don't use the cruise much, so I'm thinking the PP is better for me.  Will need different tires come winter time, but that's fine.

This guy is my lead candiate: http://www.sewellcadillac-dallas.com/VehicleDetails/used-2013-Ford-Taurus-4dr_Sdn_SHO_AWD-Dallas-TX/2239439773

What do you guys think?  It is fully loaded as far as I can tell for a PP car.   Can anyone lookup the service history for this? I was told guy traded in for a new Cadillac ATS but they don't know why.  Seems odd someone would dump this only after 5k miles and 6 months (Carfax shows it was sold 10/2013).

I also have never test driven a Taurus SHO, just been obsessed with it since the release and really interested since the '13 refresh.  I'm going to try to test drive a non PP '13 SHO tomorrow.  Just not any PP SHOs in the Denver/Colorado Springs area (maybe 1).  Is there a noticeable difference between a PP and non-PP?

If the 2013s have the full brake upgrade I would get pp 2010-12 it seems big upgrade is axle ratio. Its my understanding the 2013 pp had upgraded master cylinder. That might have been 2014.

PokerMunkee

All 2013s got the new master cylinder.   PP got performance pads. I mainly want different gears,  steering wheel,  and coolers.   Suspension should handle a bit better too.   I think only rear shocks are different on PP?

Not a bad price. It was manufactured 10-12-12 and first sold on 10-23-13 with 47 miles on it. No outstanding recalls noted. So yes it did sit a year after being built.

Seems like an excellent price to me. I paid quite a bit more for mine last November, with 3K more miles on the clock.

I guess I missed it. Does this one have PP? It appears to have 402A and nav?

Yes it does. Pull the window sticker.  Pretty much has it all for a PP model.

The other member made a valid point in regard to the vehicle just sitting there, brand new or not for a prolong time can cause warped rotors etc, check inside the rims if you see uneven deteriation inside from flooding and storms we had.A while back I could not believe a ford dealer was advertising a brand new 14 sho with that much salt on it that I could not tell what color it was.

You guys are suggesting perhaps this price is too good to be true?

If it checks out, though, that's ALOT of almost new car for the money.

Thanks everyone.

Searching the VIN in google found it for sale on original dealer's website: http://www.reedhasit.com/new-ford-inventory.php?v=2013-Ford-Taurus&view=vehicle&guid=78ca2b76-c06f-493c-a482-08a6c75dc32d

This Sewell Cadillac dealer gets good ratings, so I'm thinking they aren't pulling a fast one.  Sales rep said they had it listed for $33k originally, been on lot for 20 days, needs to go.  She talked to sales guy who worked with previous owner in buying a new ATS, said nothing wrong with car, owner switches out cars a lot.  Not negotiating much in price, $30,800 after their doc fee.  I'll have to pay 6.2% taxes in Colorado.  This is the best deal in the U.S.A. at the moment.  A forum member in NM is selling same car for $34,000 with similar miles.  I called about a CPO '13 White PP loaded SHO in Omaha and someone put a deposit down on it today.

I hope to test drive a PP SHO tomorrow morning.  If I like it and the wifey approves, I'm going to put deposit down and fly out on Wednesday to drive her back.

Sales rep walked around car to find issues.  Found a nickel size scrape on one of the wheels (didn't look bad in pic), a 2" light scratch on bumper (they will try to buff out, no paint), and that's about it.  Has both key fobs and manual.

This won't be the first time I traveled for a car.  Flew from Vegas to L.A. to pickup a slightly used '06 TrailBlazer SS, never test drove one before.  Also drove 5 hours from Colorado Springs to Albuquerque for a '07 Durango.  A little nervous though, hope I really like the car.

If you serious about car, then use Paypal or mail a check as deposit. That way, they cannot and will not sell car. But you can recant your money if you decide against. When I did this in the past, they just held my check as good faith. Didnt cash it. When I picked car up, then we balanced out everything.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

You're lucky this one didn't come up 2 months ago when I was looking or I would've scooped it from under your nose :D

If everything checked out I'd be all over this one.
