Very nice indeed, you are going to need those new brakes on Saturday ;)

Exactly!!!!

Hope to be going a little faster too!

Mechanic said I have a good chance too...I guess the rear brakes were sticking and I had an exaust leak too.

The front pads were cracking and rotors up there were slightly warped. Land yacht showing off her gurth...lol

Rich
MOTHER OF GOD,they look amazing buddy and enjoy and BTW do not exceed 80mph until you break them in which takes about 400 miles, enjoy. Z
Thanks buddy.

In the brake kit it says 50 miles using extra distance to stop in "urban" driving, then 200 miles before the 60 to 20 mph stops to bed them in. Would you be suggesting I wait a bit longer to set them? Thx

Rich
I have installed so many brake kits on my other cars,it takes roughly 400 miles until there properly broken in,patience is the key buddy to a long lasting fullfillment. Z

Well shoot, I have alot of driving to do today...have a trip across the state tomorrow for my sisters sons Bday. Bought him a really cool slot car track with 4 lanes of racing and 18 tracks to build that mimic famous layouts. Lucky kids nowadays.

I would recommend taking your time as well. I did something like 500 miles to let them break in.  This is my second set and the first time (different car) I didn't wait long enough and got too aggressive with the stops in succession and was rewarded with warped and discolored rotors I ended up living with. On this car I took my time and they work and look perfect!

I hope you can break in/bed those new brakes in before Saturday. I would hate to see you toast those beauties prematurely.

Ebc recommends going easy for  the
First 50 miles minimum.
Then smooth ,controlled braking for the next 500. Trying not to heat them up to quickly if possible.
You want that break in coating on the pads to do its job.

Thx for the tips also. Maybe we take the truck...70 miles put on yesterday barely using them to stop. People were getting upset with my slowness too ^-^

Rich,

Do you have a link or model #? I looked on Auto Anything and only see rotors available for SE / SEL / Limited.  Surely these can't be the same ones used on the SHO?

Gosh those rotors are so pretty. Got a link?

Is there a break in process?

Wilson
Thx.

I ordered the EBC slotted rotors and red stuff pads from Auto Anything. If you're looking to get them fast. I paid the premium to have rotors shipped, they threw the pads in no charge....brake kit showed up 25 hours after I ordered it.

Big thumbs up to Auto Anything

Rich
What's your reason to go with the red stuff over the yellow?

This PTU is like a gear oil black hole. I took out 10oz the first time then put in 16oz about 10 months ago. Now I only got out 9oz but put in 17oz.

It must get so hot it vaporized the oil because this math does not add up. Lol.

Didn't you change the PTU fluid not long ago, wasinger?

Yeah this is the second time now. I changed it about 10 months ago. I'm putting in this pretty stuff.

At least you can get more in. I can only get out about the same amount (9oz.) But that is all I can get back in. I'm almost positive I am on the bottom though. I am worried that it got hot enough at some point to turn some of it into a paste and I can't get that out....

I think my factory fill reached the beginning paste phase. That's why I'm changing it now. In hopes that the RP oil washed the paste off in the last 10 months. I'm going to change it again in June before my trip so we will see what it looks like.

Kerosene (or a similar thinner, ATF?) can be your friend, if you are willing to let your PTU gargle it :)
