Police SHOs

So the Taurus police cars have begun running around here, some even with EBs in them. My daughter came up running to me the other night how it was all over Facebook. So I'm like yea and then? She said everyone was complaining about how it's going to that much harder to run when you are being chased by a SHO. I said wait what? First off how do your friends on Facebook know about the SHO, and what the heck are they doing trying to run from the cops?? I guess the moral if this story is the SHO is no longer a sleeper, if it's common knowledge among 17 something's lol.

They have Taurus "police interceptor's".  The police package is just another model, like SE, LIMITED, or SHO.

I know I am splitting hairs on this.  But when I see a Taurus police car, it do not think its a SHO.  Just like the old crown vic PI's were not the same crown vic's the old folks drove.

True, but a Performance Package SHO shares most of its driveline with the PPV.

goblue is right three model.
1) 3.7L FWD (Trans cop bus/collages/gov buildings)
2) 3.7L AWD (small city/department beat uint)
3) 3.5L EB AWD (BIG City/Department hwy unit)
Atlanta had all models work for differ department.

In calgary I believe they all have 3.7l. They just got a big delivery of a couple dozen atleast all the ones I see have flex fuel badges.

Once you think about they dont really need sho speed. Crown vics are slow as s**t compared to 3.7 only .

It really doesn't matter how fast your ride is or anyone else for that matter. I doubt you could out run a helicopter or the radio lol. They use both of those around here. My only point with this post was how far the SHO has come, it's a household name now!

In the 90's the kids that knew car know what SHO MEAN!!! As there parent was thinking SEL./SHO  was JUST two kind of Taurus. even in 2002 when my little girl was in 12th grade the boys knew what SHO WAS!! They call her SHO-BOAT, SHO-OFF, FOR-SHO AND I was SHO-MAN for giving her so cool of a car!! THE KIDS HAVE ALL WAYS KNOW. oops caps

Our equivalent of State Troopers do use helicopters to patrol the expressways and toll roads. I have seen them in the sky from time to time.
