I made the first trip to the drag strip this Friday and Thompson Raceway Park in Ohio for the Mustang club that I am in annual track rental. The car performed flawlessly, my best pass was 12.9366 @ 106.78 MPH with a 1.8949 60' time. I made 13 passes and the slowest one was 13.0730 @ 106.02 with a 1.9107 60" time, spun a little on this launch. I made 13 passes during the day, some hot laps and I had 7 passes in the 12.9's and 6 passes in the 13.0's. My fastest MPH was 107.5. The best DA during the day was about 775 which for Thompson is great. They are about 1200 foot above sea level, it was in the low 50's but the humidity was a little high. We had a couple of light showers in the morning and lost about an hour track time but it was still a great day as always.

I am very impressed with the consistency and performance of the SHO. All I have is a drop in K&N, 170* stat, 3 bar MAP and LMS V8 93 octane tune in a 2013 non PP. I did not take anything out of the car. The spare was still in it and I also left the tire pressure alone, really did not need to lower it. I only spun the one time when I tried to launch at about 2500 RPM's. I will be back to Thompson later this year to do some bracket racing, the car is very consistent even hot lapping.

I'll post up a time slip or two later.

A friend on mine was there running his SHO too, same mods and year as mine except he has a CAI. His best pass was a 12.91 so maybe in the cooler weather a CAI does increase performance a bit. All his runs were consistently .02 or so faster than mine, every time we lined up together. I won every time because he can not cut a light.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

I'll let you know the next time I am heading out there, it is about 2.5 hours for me but it is the closest track to me that is worth running at.
