LMS tune help needed

A few weeks ago I got the basic mycal device (non touch screen) and I'm having problems while trying to load the tune. I've talked to LMS several times they've even sent me a replacement device thinking there was a problem with the first. But I'm stuck in an endless loop of "turn ignition off" and "please turn ignition back on". Has anyone else had this issue or am I just doing something wrong? Here are the steps I take to load the tune:
2010 Taurus SHO
1) plug device into obd2
2) press and hold start button with foot off break till gauges sweep (around 7 seconds)
3) press Y to enter tuning mode
4) select tune and press Y to continue
5) devices tells me to shut off ignition and press Y to continue
6) I press the engine start/stop button and open and close drivers door. Then press Y (instructions say to open and close diver door)
7) devices tells me to please turn ignition back on
8 ) I press and hold hold start button till gauges sweep
Then steps 5-8 just repeat over and over. I have spent better then 20 minutes turning on and off the ignition.
Any ideas?
Both devices I've received have done this same thing. I've tried without opening and closing the driver door when device tells me to turn ignition off and also Anthony said to try with the door open. Nothing has made a difference.
Thanks

Thanks for posting this issue IAmatt. Looks like LMS is hopefully getting it all taken care of for you. Please let us know how it comes out.

Also, welcome to the EBPF!! Please take the time to visit the New Member Introductions area to post a bit about yourself. Of course, pics of your rides are always appreciated!

Took 3 devices to finally get it working. Just glad it wasn't me doing something wrong. Turned out there was a problem with the new batch of units where the circuit board would over heat and not respond properly. I was excited to see the device say writing computer instead of turn off/on. My only concern now is how durable the mycal is and how well it will hold up. After a third device I think I can conclude they're not made very well.

Hopefully they are other than the one batch from AIW that you mention

To bad you were caught in this situation.... Glad you got it going now.... The tune will put a smile back on your face!

Wouldn't worry about the device reliability, but definitely be proactive about reporting any problems to LMS, so they can minimize any downtime for you.
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!
