E85 or 100 octane

Which is better:

1) getting a 100 octane tune for the track, or

2) E85 tune and use it daily?

Current mods: check sig

Future mods: PPE catted DP's, cat back exhaust, Eco power hot pipes, maybe NOS.

Brad, I don't think anyone is running 100% e85 without a piggy back fuel system.  Bambic got it to work.  So I would say the 100 octane tune would be the easiest and cheapest way to go.  You would obviously need to log or get a dyno tune for it.

FoMoCoSHO is blending his own with E85, for an effective E25 currently, I believe, as a daily driver.  Running straight E85 is not currently possible AFAIK without fuel system upgrades (as mentioned above).  So if 100 octane is easy to get, run than with a tune for 100 octane.

True but FracaSHO has a 2010 so blends are a no go.
Older 3.5 EB fuel delivery system can't handle it only 13+ can do blends.
I'm experimenting as well with it a little more conservatively though.

Also LMS will not tune for E85 blends .

At 34 percent I was still seeing 2400+ at the rail so I think I had plenty of FRP, I was concerned about exceeding 25 percent on the trims and the ecm ratting me out to the d-ship.

I recently saw a pic of a Torrie tuned car that had plenty of frp in Torque. That leads me to believe there might be room to play a bit of e85 in gen 4.1 but I wouldn't attempt it without logging and tuner support.

Sounds like E85 is more complicated than a simple tune. There's a Delta Sonic about 5 miles from me that sells race gas. I think they have 100 and/or 104 unleaded. I'll have LMS send me a race gas tune and whenever I'm gonna go to the track, I'll fill up my almost empty tank with the race fuel, load my tune, let the car relearn its idle trim, and go to the track.

Don't fill up, that weight will slow you down.

E-85 isn't really an option for you as Livernois won't tune for it.

To be quite honest if I didn't have E-85 readily available I wouldn't be screwing with it either.

The biggest complication is going to two gas stations when I fillup.

Not a big deal as I'm blessed with lots of good fuel in my sphere of existence.

I hear you about the full tank. However. I am 65 miles from union grove drag strip and I would drive around to let the car relearn the idle trim after loading the race fuel tune. So realistically I would get it down to a little under half a tank, which would leave me with  1/4 tank or less by the time I get to the track.

You can't run E85 with stock fuel system above a 30% E85/gasoline  (E30) mix, 100 octane is the ONLY option you have for high HP tune on fuel.

The total fuel capacity is 19 gallons.
