In your opinion,  do you think re-routing CSS over the top is the optimal placement? Easily enough to do but I don't have enough miles on the installed system to know from experience. Thanks for the input.
When I first installed the system I was trying out different configurations. At one point I was venting the css hose to the atmosphere with a breather filter on the end.
That filter got soaked with oil when the hose was going down toward the radiator.
With the current setup the hose is completely dry. I actually spliced in a butt connector near the css so I could periodic inspect it.

I also installed a check valve in the css hose near the air filter box. When the car was parked I would get pretty strong oil vapors smell sneaking out through the hose into the air box opening at the front of the car.

Appreciate the insights, especially the checkvalve idea which I'll probably go ahead do as well.  My SHO is definitely not my daily driver, she's my baby which means she'll  often be parked for weeks depending on weather (never even been in rain) so your check valve idea is great for keeping my garage free of noxious odors.
Where do you find the best selection of different hose adapters/fittings? I generally have to look at Lowe's,  HD, Ace, etc. They only have white for the few  nylon fittings they actually carry and brass, neither of which matches all the hardware I used installing the kit.

Still waiting on on struts to match sport springs to be manufactured by someone.

Anyone else ending up with oil in their air box from the oil cap "return" line?
What do you guys think about that??

I wouldn't use plastic fittings from Home Depot or any other hardware store. They won't be rated to handle the high temps under the hood.
Any auto parts store should sell the black plastic fitting kits.

Brass would be OK to use also.

I did not. But I have found a puddle in the bottom of the airbox and an oil soaked air filter after having the CSS installed.
I have the monster can here and I've been tinkering with two different CSS's, but so far no change. :

Maybe I will try NAPA because AZ, O'Reily's, and Advance had literally nothing.  May just end up with brass since I can find it and it will last forever.

How many miles did you have on the system before you saw the first signs of oil in the CSS making its way into the airbox?  Are you running a CAI or a aftermarket panel filter in the OE airbox?  I am interested in knowing what to look for.  I credit Glock for his suggestion; I am re-routing the CSS line upward under the vanity cover instead of straight down into a 90 degree elbow then to my CAI as a precaution.

Stock airbox. K&N filter.
Probably the fourth oil change is when I noticed it. It's not a lot. Pretty small really, but it's definitely there.

I noticed the before the first oil change. Running k&n panel. I always keep the vanity cover off now.

JimiJak are you using the Motorcraft oil filter(FL-500S)found many aftermarket filters to be restrictive, the oem Motorcraft just flows better with the built in diaphram that keeps the oil pressure up,Fomoco all the way, just a thought.  Z

I've been using a wix premium...good thought. I'll try the fomoco next change.

Also, MY MONSTER CAN CAME IN TODAY!!! Complete with larger diameter hose, etc. SO, my plan is to remove the front facia again and make a few changes. I would like to switch to the larger can, plus try to remount the vacuum hoses closer to the turbos...Not sure yet whether I will try to tap into the intake pipes pre-turbo, or if I will tie into the open BOV ports since I'm VTA.

Not sure when I'll be doing this, but I have it tentatively slated for some time within the next two weeks.

I'll advise.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread (for the second time), but I have a quick question for those of you that have completed the Monster can install on the Explorer. Does the large can fit behind the bumper cover on the X? I saw JimiJak's plans to refit the larger canister, but I didn't see any follow-up posts with any definitive confirmation of whether or not it fit.

I have a can on order from TeamRXP, and I'm trying to plan out my install. Their 2011-14 instructions still call out the location aft of the radiator near the CSS, but I like JJ's bumper/fender install idea.

Thanks, fellas!

I answered my own question. The Monster RX can fits nicely in the void in front of the left front wheel. :)

I'll get some pics posted of my install in the next few days.

I have been reading over several forums and am confused for the RX can intall on a 2013 PP SHO. Most installs on different vehicles with the 3.5 Ecoboost motor. Finding a place for the can on the SHO is really hard. Not sure where exactly to put the holes as using the T is no longer valid. My system did not come with directions, just a go to website where Tracy putting on the can on a F150, similar but really not like my car.
Has anyone put this system on a 2010-2014 SHO, have any directions for install or any insights? Thanks
