Many people have ask about how quit is the car with the 3rd cat remove. Here my car stock mufflers on for a road trip with WIFE!!!!!! IT SOUNDS STOCK EVEN WITH ALL THE MOD's I HAVE!!!!!!! WOW
STOCK EXHAUST 2
Catted or catless dp's?

This is my favorite setup.

I prefer stealth and the tone of the stock mufflers.

It would be awesome if you swapped your setup at the strip sometime.
I HAVE LMS CATTED DP's. I was thinking the same thing about 1 strip trip with the stock mufflers. I have make a promise to the wife that I will finish my honey do this list before going and play with the (SHO) "OTHER WOMAN" THIS YEAR.LOL
Oh my set up netted me 405AWHP & 417tor. and cost me 1/2 of what somebody BORLA set-up did.

No doublewall tips?

JimiJak

Geez picky! Lol

I think it's just the way the sun is hitting them. They are virtually clones of the stock double walls, only powder coated black.

I would not run anything chambered (flowmaster or knockoff) on a turbo vehicle.
... go with a Mac FloPath or Spintech.

Stay far from spintech unless you have a resonator or something else to quiet it down.  Those will provide full race / neighbor annoyance mode if installed.

The largest spintech mufflers (volume) are still much louder than the smallest 'street' style set ups.

(I have owned Prostock, sportsman and a larger version on my V8s, and they are all loud, especially if paired with 3" exhaust flow tubes)

I love the spintech sound on a V8, but I'm still trying to figure out what I would 'like' my v6 to sound like.

Anyone have an idea of what just a cut out sounds like? (installed upstream of the cat/resonator)

One more thing:  Exhaust system weights.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else in this thread, so I'll post my findings.  The stock system containing all hangers, mufflers, cat/resonator and flanges weighs 76.2lbs.

Does anyone have data on other aftermarket system components?

I'm not interested in loud, but I am interested in less weight and more flow.(I know this is a tough request!)

ZSHO

The best of my knowledge the Corsa cat back weighs 5lbs less than stock, contributed to the elimination of the resonator and cat and the straight thru.

This is a Magnaflow muffler in the middle, rear mufflers deleted. Factory pipe size. The in cab drone is brutal. Ear rupturing at 1200, 1900, and 2200 RPMs. It sounds awesome at 2700 and up.

sounds good just revving. Looks like I'll be saving up a little more money for some dynomax mufflers

I finally purged all the crappy grocery store fuel my wife was running and loaded a 90 octane Unleashed tune. That tune kills most of the drone. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's the increased airflow. I'm wondering if a cold-air intake will kill the drone too. Any one know?
