Weirdest thing happened today. I left work, pulled onto the empty road, and decided to do a hole shot. I applied the brakes, rev'd to about 2,000 rpm (note that I had a rough time getting the car to not move, brakes probably need replacing), and floored it. There was some shuddering almost instantly. It felt like wheel hop so I didn't let off. Shuddering stopped probably around 4,000 to 5,000 rpm. Shifted into 2nd. She stayed in 2nd and rev'd all the way to 7,000 rpm. No bouncing off the rev limiter, and I don't think it slipped out of gear. I let off the gas and the RPM's came down slowly, like she was stuck in second. I shifted into neutral and the RPM's dropped back down to normal. Normal driving after that. On the way home I floored it from a complete stop at a stop sign, no brake boosting, and she shifted and ran fine. Things to point out:
-car was close to normal operating temp, but might not have been fully warmed up.
-Trans was in D, not in manual mode
-car was in 'sport' mode
-no wrench light or check engine light
-current mods are in my sig
So what do you think?
