I want to dump 6k's into the SHO; I need better lighting.

Didn't someone do this? I need to know what kind of HID bulb we need that is direct plug and play and how difficult was it to remove? I got big freaking hands and there ain't a whole lot of room once you take that little dust cover off the headlight.

I have factory HIDs with 5300k (I think) bulbs.

LOL; I "sold" it however the dealership hasn't paid me for 2 months so I'm suing them now.

I started digging into the car and realized it was just too damn small; nobody could really do anything with series II engine; very limited tuning capabilities.

I'm just with the SHO for now. I kinda want an old Supra to build up--still one of my favorite cars but the prices people ask for them is stupid.

you gotta change out the whole assembly among other things if its not a hid light already. if so i have no idea lol.

I have HID's already. I guess I need to specify that.

Our Canadian brethren seem to have the most experience with HID swapouts (Shoboat, bigPelo, steve142857, etc).  I THINK they are the D3S type for OEM HID, but 9005 should also work?  Hope they chime in :)
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

DS3 sounds right; I swore I heard of some people who said that you just need the bulbs and they are direct fit with factory system.

D3S bulbs is what you need but you won't have more light with just a bulb swap... You will need a higher Wattage ballast and probably better projectors and lens. Even more, OEM 4300K temperature rated bulbs have higher lumens output then 6000K.

9005 won't fit.

Yeah DS3 is what I found.

I goofed; I meant I want "whiter" light LOL. I should sleep and not post when I'm delirious. I hate the "yellowish" tint my car kinda has.

5000k is the pure white. 6000k will be white with a slight blueish tint.

I used the 5000k  for the vLED switchbacks (and the white is almost as bright as my OEM HIDs).... The 5000K matches the OEM HIDS and the "accessory parking lights about perfectly

Pics and vid to demonstrate color in this thread starts with puddle lights but goes on to general lights:http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php?topic=1730.msg22650#msg22650

I know there was a website that had the DS3 bulbs, but like Storm, I'm afraid you almost have to remove the headlamp bucket to get to the bulb...which I think means you have to take off the front clip?
