3rd Cat & Resonator delete w/dual cutouts

So the beginning of this week I am having my 3rd cat and resonator deleted. In place I am having installed dual electric cutouts. The stainless Y cutouts will have flanges welded on and connected to stock DPs, and then straight piped to stock exhaust. Cutouts will will have tips angled at 45* towards road.

I'm curious what gains I will get on the track with the cut outs.

Also curious to see what the SHO will sound like with res and cat deleted and straight piped to stock mufflers. Couldn't find anything on YouTube or forums with this set up.

Be prepared to change rear mufflers or add resonators, it doesn't sound good at all with resonator deleted, just do the 2nd cat.
BTW, I did what I did with the single cutout because of little to no room there. :)

Thanks for the heads up. On your cutout setup are you running 2.5"? Stock is 2.25" correct?  Is there more room where the res sits, may have to to put cut out there. I really didn't want to have to purchase a axle back sys.

My cutout was a 3" single cutout in conjunction with the dual 2.5" downpipes.

I can vouch for the resonator.  I paid to put mine back in.

Looks like I'm going to have dynomax performance ultra flo mufflers installed. I like the the exhaust setups I've heard where you hear the turbos spooling and a deep tone. I won't mind if it's louder than stock.  Just not obnoxiously loud.

Needmoreboost

I did the simple (not popular) 2nd cat delete only.  Minor increase in dba sound, but can really hear the dual exhaust now.  Plus side is hearing the turbo's.  Good luck.

Speaking to the smell.  With all three cats off, it smells pretty strong.  The third cat went a long way in rectifying that.  Can't say what the first two cats do in regard to smell.  I would assume though that they do reduce it.

Ive run a similar setup with the boost activated cutouts with the y pipes with an x in place of the resonator, I'll post one of the runs so you can hear it, def quicker response sounds fine and they shut when not in the boost. I can't give you a complete comparison as I blew an intercooler hose off in the process, I will remedy that this season lol.

NightHawk are you running stock exhaust? I saw the pic and got excited, looks mean. Can't wait to hear that sound clip.

@ Nighthawk: +1 for an audio clip of the exhaust cutouts.
Are you have any issues with clearance since it looks like those y-pipes are hanging pretty low?

Minor smell more noticeable in 30 degree or less air.  It is after o2 connections so no tripped lights etc.  But, removing it does not hurt the flow as the second cat is full of screens and substrate.  I guy could just gut it and put back in.  It would look stock.  Fyi

odors give me a headache if it smells like gas at all that's out for me. Bummer becasue I would like to do catless downpipes if I can quit being so cheap :)
