Hmmm  :hmmm:  I seem to remember that I couldn't lock the car when the fob was in the car, it kept unlocking..but maybe it was because the car was still running...I know that with My F-150 you could lock the doors with the engine running...don't ask why I know this because it's a long story and makes me look really stupid! :wall:

You can't just press the lock button on the inside door.  If you do and then close the door it will unlock and beep at you.  You MUST lock it with the keypad if you leave the fob in the car.

If the battery in the fob is dead and the battery in car is dead and my cell phone is dead, I would use the BFH to beat myself on my head.

Seriously, the keypad operates from the car battery and use of the fob operates from the fob battery.  You can still start the car with a dead fob by putting it in the appropriate slot so assuming the car battery is not dead, you could drive to Walgreens or Batteries Plus and buy a new fob battery.   :hitit2:

Where is the spot to put it should the fob be dead?

Below is from the MKS manual.  Pretty sure the SHO is the same.  There should be a slot in the glove compartment.

Backup Method of Starting: Your
IA key uses a radio frequency signal
to communicate with your vehicle
and authorize your vehicle to start
when you press the START/STOP
button and apply the brake pedal. If
excessive radio frequency
interference is present in the area,
or if the battery in your IA key is
low, it may be necessary to start
your car by inserting the IA key in
the backup slot, located in your glove box. Insert the IA key into the slot
with buttons facing out and with key ring up.

We also have a key in our FOB if all else fails too

For my SHO, the location to place the dead FOB is inside the center console and not in the glove compartment like the MKS. It is in the rear driver side corner I believe.  It should follow the same orientation rules as in the MKS manual above though.
