I work in the LE field too, but I don't arrest people I just do surveillance, file warrants, testify, and send them up.

Sounds like a nice squad car you should be able to run down 90% of anything out there. Do all of the PI Taurus have the 3.5L Ecoboost ? I thought they were actually naturally aspirated 3.5L's with some upgrades. I had a Constable with a new Taurus PI asking me about my SHO and he said his PI was a SHO. I thought he was clearly confused becasue his squad car looked nothing like my SHO. A State Trooper pulled me over the other day just to ask me about my SHO lol (that's the only reason ha). Yeah 81 in a 75 in TX isn't really speeding. He picked me out of the traffic (yeah everyone drives that fast here) becasue he wanted to check out my car. Anyway he said they are about to get them in TX too and he was really pumped about it.

Looks sweet!  Keep us in the loop 4 sure.  The EB for the PI must be a new development, had heard of NA only until now.
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Welcome aboard motorhead! :hi:

Always nice to have yet another brother in blue here on our ever expanding EBPF boards.

As far as the Ecoboost PI.... it's always been an available option to LE agencies since it's release.

When my photographer and I were blessed with an all access, unfettered tour with press credentials to the CAP (Chicago Assembly Plant) ....

We also visited the police up fitting facility, called the "TDM" which was located approximately two/three blocks East of the CAP.

Really cool place, and there are a total of four distinct up fitting production lines, that each allow for varying levels, or tiers if you will, of upgrades/options.

So in closing, enjoy that PI. I may by myself one, when I'm ready to turn my current POV into a garage queen.

Thanks for posting! :thank you.

Welcome to the forum. Just a few questions for you. I am a bit confused, did you buy this or did your department issue it too you for work? not really a big deal just wondering how that works. Also could you post a pic of the column shifter and center consul, interested how that looks on the SHO. Thanks.

Welcome also .... Sounds like your PI Taurus is equipped well.

I drive a PI Taurus as a patrol car and it is not ecoboost. I do not have sync, usb port or any fancy things - probably the base model.  Its NA 3.5 AWD.  It does run and drive good.  Major upgrade from the Crown Vic but no room inside the car, space is limited. The car is quiet at 80mph, hard not to speed in it.

Now my POV is a SHO with PP package.  It is outfitted with lights and siren since I work extra jobs out of the car.  My SHO works for a living!  Every light is concealed as well as the controller so the normal public has not a clue.  Its my daily and family ride when not sporting the mini van.

I got popped by DPS for 6 over in my POV.  They usually only give you a nickle over on traffic (speeding).

OK thanks. I forget some POV vehicles are also squad cars too. Constables in TX get a car allowance and use it towards what ever vehicle they want to turn into a squad car. Lots of Mustang, Camaro, and apparently SHO duty cars down here.

Excellent choice you made! ...Option to retain as a POV after xxx miles?
