So would my Lightning and GT500 be considered Ecoboost?

They both are forced induction motors.  They make consideral more power than a NA 330 cubic inch powerplant.  1999 silverado 5.3 = 285/325, 1999 Lightning 5.4 = 360/440.  Gas mileage isn't horrible.  Where they ahead of the Ecoboost idea?  Discuss.....

I would say no, only because I'm jealous and don't have one of either of them! :whine:

Altho very nice rides indeed, I would not consider them eco boost. they lack direct injection and operational controls are different.

That would be a NO cause it don't have this ....

While they are very cool cars... I'd have to say no they aren't ecoboost.

I'm still failing to see the whole Eco thing while I'm averaging 15 mpg right now... Lol

Because if it wasn't eco with the same engine and car you would only get 12mpg. Its the truth, Ford said so.

That seems awful low.

I'm just under 18 with 30% E85 and I'm not nice to it. I have been damn impressed with the fuel mileage given the weight and power of these cars.

I'd have it looked at...Maybe do the old manual method first to check the computer.
I go WOT at every chance at stop lights and cruise 80-85 and consistently run 19.7-20 mpg all around average mileage

You also have to take into account the distance driven. if you only drive 20 miles a day it will be lower then some one who dose 50+ a day.

Winter fuel and cold airs effect on fuel trims do have a negative effect on mileage..

Also you may want to take a mental note on how frequently and for how long you use the remote start.

With my grand prix i noticed my milage dropped more when i was using remote start all the tike in the winter

To the OP, you said your gas mileage isn't that bad.

What's that lightning getting? ;)
