All,
If you read my other posts, you know I'm a new SHO owner.  I want to add a tune and it seems the Livernois tune is the one everyone suggest.  Is it as good a people say?  Also, do I have to change or gap the plugs and replace the thermostat?
Thanks,
Chuck

Livernois  or Unleased by Torrie are popular Tuners with members .

One step colder iridium plugs gaped at .030 and 170 t-stat recommended.

it's a good tune.  It's the one I'm currently using.  Torrie at unleashed also has very good tunes.  I don't think you could go wrong with either tuner.  It's the best bang for the buck and the basis for other mods, as the tunes can be revised.

Seems like I need to go ahead and pull the trigger on the tune.  The car drives so good now I cant imagine more power and better shifts. I'll definitely get the plugs and thermostat since that seems to be highly recommended by everyone as well.

I thought the recommended gap was .030 ?

I've had a Livernois tune since my car had 6300 miles on it and I won't change for the world, I love it and the service I got from Livernois, however, I would also purchase and trust a tune from Unleashed Tuning any time, Torrie has a great record with his tunes and has very good service!

I believe LMS does recommend the spark plug gap to be .030 and definitely a heat range cooler.  It is to prevent misfires and spark blowout at increased boost.  Also helps the ECM prevent detonation.  OEM is .035

The shifting is the better part of the tunes.  I put mine back to stock the other day, and couldn't believe how slow and dragging the factory shifting is.

Well I pulled the trigger and got the LMS tuner, plugs and thermostat.  Hoping for the best.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!
