Danny replied to me:
Hi Mike,

Sorry for the delay, I have been traveling with our race team a lot more than I intended. Just now getting a chance to catch up on my current projects.

I am having a tough time getting the new top hat design to work for the SH0. The shock tower kind of limits the piston and top bearing I can use. Since I don't have the actual car here it is a bit tough to get the top hat right. Is there any way you can send me the dimension of the oem strut tower? I Just need the measurements from the center of the strut tower, to the center of each of the bolt holes. Once I have that I can confirm and make a new CAD drawing and machine out a new set. If you have a source that could get me a CAD or 3d rendering of it that would be perfect. If not, then I have attached a photo and I pretty much need the dimension for anything lined in red.

Please let me know if you can get this to me so that I can get back to work on this. Thank you!

I'm interested to see if and how much space can be gained by installing the coilovers in the front? I would imagine that the COs are thinner in diameter than the factory struts. Any measures yet?

Speaking for the 2012 and older versions for the Flex that Mike had, they were not thinner but instead, thicker by about 1/4".  Lower offset wheels definitely needed if going wide.

Off topic from the OP's post, but I'll entertain the question presented.

cror1......

I believe you are inquiring as to the overall diameter of the Megan's in relation to the OEM's, correct?

I'll assume you are wondering so you can perhaps install a wider rim/tire combo up front, correct again?

If so, for the 2010-2012 Model Year's of SHO's.... the Megan's are actually smaller (or less) in diameter, not "thicker"

I ordered the set of Megan's for my SHO (which are only listed as being applicable for the Flex's btw) and captured a couple of side-by-side comparison pictures to show you the difference(s).....

I only posted the fronts, as that's all you asked about.

Hope that answered your question(s).

I can tell you this no more space is gained. 1stsho thought the same thing when installing his 305 width drag tire at the track. He had to install spacers. However 275's fit are cars no problem with properly offset wheels.

You guys are correct, thank you for the replay. I was wondering about this because I wanted to get wider tires/wheels and I wanted to see if any space can be gained as the the strut is the only thing in the way. Helped a lot. I don't want to run wheel spacers, so what would be the best offset wheels for 20x9 to fit a 275 tires?  Are there any other modifications required, one again, the wheel spacers are out of question. And, all this with the car lowered with H&R springs. Is it possible, or 265 would be a better option, but tire options are limited.
