I noticed that some of you run the torque app in your car and I was about to download it but I first wanted to see if I should be looking for a certain brand for the OBD adapter and what to stay away from?

Any advice will help,

Thanks.

The Scantool MX is a little pricey but in my opinion is well worth it.  Makes my Torque Pro seem like it's wired.

Does it use the same OBD Bluetooth adapter?

I use the elm 327 mini from amazon

Its known as the cheap option. Mine works great I've had zero issues with it. Other users have reported it doesn't work properly so I guess it comes down to luck with build quality. At 10-15 bucks if its a dud then its not a huge loss.

Others have used the higher price options but my cheap option has worked quite well for over a year now.

?  It is the adapter.  Plug it in, push the button, bluetooths to your phone or tab.

Anyone using these with iOS? I have an iPhone 5S.
Thanks

Is that only for android or works with iOS as well?

I'm not sure but I think Torque is just an Android App.  I may be wrong.

It is my understanding that "Torque" app is exclusively Android. I know there are iOS apps that use a Bluetooth OBD dongle, I just don't think "Torque" makes a iOS version.

The one I ordered off Amazon (cheapest one available) works fine for me.

No, it's not torque.  I use Dashcommand.
