Am i able to change exhaust/cai/tune and still maintain my extended service plan?
I know they have to prove it broke whatever part goes but surely a tune must void it in some way. Can i always flash to stock without them knowing? And tuning seems alot like flashing Operating systems on smartphones lol

They will know if you have ever flashed.  You may end up having to prove (or convince) the requested warranty repairs are not related to the tune, exhaust or CAI.

I would discuss it with your dealer...I know my dealer is completely aware of all my mods and has never had a problem with any warranty issue.  If you have a quality dealer, chances are the mods won't affect the warranty of anything not related to the mods.  I do not even go back to stock when my car goes in for service, dealer is aware of the tune, and knows to warn me if they are going to reflash the computer.

If you mean Extended Service Plan (I got one for 7yr/70K)......Factory maintenance service should have nothing to do with warranty.  Of course Ford won't put a new conical filter in your CAI... but they should do all the scheduled maintenance.... or so my dealer says.

If you mean extended warranty then DJ and mjh hit the nail on the head...
although with a good dealer relationship the small stuff should be fine and things like the electronics, etc. that don't relate to the tune should be easy, but not guaranteed.  Technically, according to a ford TSB on 2011, a CAI is potential grounds to void  an engine/powertrain warranty.

Thanks for pointing out the Service end of it Tom.  Whenever I see tune, I think warranty!  ;D

I like my dealer.  They are what I would say medium sized.  The big dealer nearby  is a major rip off and the little dealer close to me probably can't work on an Ecoboost.  The little guy has his little customer base and is happy with it.  The big guy just thinks you are money in his pocket.  The medium sized guy is trying to grow his business and keep people happy.  I would try to find a nice medium sized dealer maybe in a semi-rural area.

if i win the lotto tonight im gonna open my own dealership :D lol

I dunno what it is but i feel like every ford dealer is just crap.

Yep.  Read it. I also have a 7 yr Ford BTB extended warranty... and   Yep, there are rotten apples in every barrel.

I'd recommend you talk to the service manager at the dealership you're using... Just explain the situation to him honestly and ask him if he will honor Ford policy you have.... before you let them have your car.
If you aren't satisfied with his willingness to work with you as much as he can (you are also a potential new/repeat car purchase customer)... then try another Ford house.
I have a dealership 10 minutes from the house where I have bought 2 cars in the last 5 years, but they wanted to follow the letter and not the spirit of the tune/mod/warranty related TSBs.  We were up front with each other.  Now I drive 30 miles to a dealer I'm comfortable with after a heart to heart with the service manager there.  They don't have to send the OBD2 flash history to Ford unless ford asks.  They won't flash if you ask them not to.

yeah seems like all i hear is bad things its hard to get a read on a place. So the service manager would be the person to ask?

curry67

Do all ford dealerships do the base fees to look at stuff. this one place that seemed good asked for 100 and something to look at each problem. Im not sure how to check if TSB's have been done to the car as i believe its quite a early model. It was actually purchased by guy who owned the dealership i bought it at.

This is kind of off topic but how is the idle noise for you guys?

mjhpadi

Asking 100 bucks to check what TSB's have been performed is outrageous.  It's simply a matter of putting the car's VIN into the computer and it will tell them any warranty work or TSB's that have been performed.  I would contact Ford and tell them about this outrageous pricing, it's crazy!
As far as noise at idle, not really much except the ticking of the high pressure pump...it concerned me when I first heard it because it sure sounded like valvetrain noise to me...put after discussion here it seems that it's only the normal noise from the high pressure pump!

I completely agree! An electronic copy of everything related on service to the car should be readily available to Ford personnel.  They can email the files to you.

Not sure about the sound.  I listened today in between pulls with mine on the dyno.. didn't hear anything clattering, clicking or ticking....... of course i'm an old fart!

Mine clicks.  I was really worried until the discussion MJH talked about.  Can't really hear it with the engine cover on and the hood closed.

Curry67 I work for Ford. If you just need a copy of your Oasis which basically a report of what has been done and reported to ford I can get it for you. PM me and I'll run it tomorrow
