Think im gonna put this off till after my vacation in march. Ill just concentrate on getting else with the car up to OCD perfect. I want to fix taillights, Ornaments to 13 ones, and to get tint and black vinyl on the roof.

I would get the damage first.  Just get $1999 from him and wing the rest.

hmm i feel so ripped off i searched all the parts numbers to see what i could get them for that tasca parts place has stuff listed at half of what this one place quoted the parts at. and when i went to a ford dealership they had a higher place then the BMW oriented place. Do autobody places accept parts i buy myself?

Ask 'em.  My dealer is really good that way.  I did see a front cover/painted on ebay a short while back.  It wasn't expensive.  You could easily pop your old one off and put a new one like that on. In about two hours with all the running lights and stuff.

I bought a genuine Ford front bumper cover, primed & all ready to go, for just a couple hundred IIRC back in March after the mother of all raccoon's decided to commit vehicular suicide by jumping in front of my intended path of travel.

Certainly no more than $300.

Only bummer was the imposed core charge. But that got quickly refunded.

BTW, I'm so proficient at removing & reinstalling that front clip now, I've got it down to 12 minutes.

I can practically do it with my eyes closed. It's pretty easy stuff.

lol I posted that earlier in the thread i was thinking that option but id rather get the paint done at a good place so they can hopefully blend it into the surrounding fenders cause i got some rock chips id love to get covered up. im actually so happy. once i figure out if i can find a good place to install my parts ill be golden. i made myself quite the wishlist.

this place is like my adult candystore...

Kind of hard for me to read but check the tail lights with my tail light thread.  There should be four pieces.   You have two right fender ornaments on there.  I can't wait for you to be posting pictures of the finished product soon!

yeah i noticed the double up yeah i was thinking i dont have trunk lid pieces ill check it out.

yeah i figured it out do i simply just switch the covers on the taillight Assembly or do i need to replace all those parts?

DJE624

You will get the assembly.  Pull the bulbs out and nuts off the fender units and reverse to install.  Same on the lid units.  The trick for getting the lid units off is this.  Soak the rubber between the spear and the lens real good.  Wedge a plastic putty knife in between where the rubber meets the lens.  You will see a kind of clip on the back/inside of the spear.  Push that out while carefully prying the spear off the lens.  Just enough to loosen the lens. Then the lens kind of slides up (from the outside) and out towards the outbound side away from the spear.  Kind of tilted up and out. Re-installing it you kind of work it back behind the spear pushing towards the center of the car and in towards the lid.   I hope this makes sense.
