What are you doing after the SHO?

Just thinking ahead, as usual. My 2012 lease is not up for another 15months or so, but I always like to noodle on what car I'll get next. Are members with leased SHOs turning them in and getting a new SHO, or maybe something else? Are people taking the buyout option and keeping the car? I've been extremely happy with mine - no problems at all, love the way it performs, comfort, like the stereo, all the bells and whistles, the Sync, big trunk, even the gas mileage hasn't been bad (19mpg mixed).

My one concern is the longevity of a turbo engine. Or are turbos now just as durable as any other part of the engine, given proper regular maintenance? I am somewhat considering getting a Mustang 5.0 since both my kids will be driving by then. I'm pretty sure that motor will outlive us all. My next car could possibly take me into retirement, so I'm looking for zero long term issues.

if you really want to switch gears with your ride (pun intended) then wait until tomorrow and see what the next gen Mustang looks like. I read on SVT Performance.com forums  that it's supposed to finally reveal on 12-5-13 ???? since it was on the internet I believe it lol ???

I plan on keeping mine for a long time at least 8-10yrs. As for turbo lasting is a very good question, cause in the past they don't last and replacing 2 turbo's down road @100k would be a not so appetizing bill. But as these new turbo's having watered cooled bearing housing they should last much longer.

2011 tuxedo black non pp, LMS stage 5, Corsa cat back, LMS down pipes, Airaid, Alky control meth injection, Megan Racing coil overs, EBC rotor&pads, Mobsteel grill, 2013 trans cooler. 403whp 417wtq 12.25 @ 110

I usually have my cars for 2-3 years and jump to the next high performance daily driver. Probably go back to Mopar and jump on 2012 or 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 and throw on the Procharger kit that just came out. Luxury, style and 11.5 second quarters is a nice combo in my book.
2013 SHO PP in White Platinum Metallic Tricoat, PPE Downpipes, Livernois Stage V8/3 Bar, Custom 2.5" Catback, 170 T-stat, Airaid CAI, H+R Springs and debadged

Frozen Taurus

My plan was to keep my 2011 for 10 years and then be looking for something....but who knows I guess.

These turbos look like a bargain compared to the $2300 one I put on my Talon and from what I have read they have a service life of 160k miles because of the specially designed center housings
2011 Tuxedo Black SHO non PP, K&N drop in, TCE Big Brake Kit, Megan Racing Coilovers
My other car is a 447 awhp Talon

I can't even imagine what will be available when I'm ready to sell this car.  Look at what the ecoboost platform did to the industry.  If this car could steer itself (other than when it does to park) I could read on my commute when I wasn't playing with it!

I hope to keep my SHO a long, long time.

Thats a very good question.  Its not easy finding a hotrod sedan with awd, thats affordable.  Might downsize into a gas friendly cheap DD and get back into another Viper.

When my son gets his license in two years, even though I have always purchased American, and want to, every time I see a white Panamera 4S that lives near me, I think in 2016, maybe I will look at a used white 2013 Panamera.  Prices may still be too high for me to justify though.    Turbo prices will definitely still be too high.  4S is a nice ride for me.

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

A lot of guys don't like the Panamera.  I like it.  It's on my win the lottery list. To bad I don't play.

Depending on what the wife wants... I'm planning on keeping the SHO and adding a Shelby to the stable... probably not new...but we'll see what Ford does with the 15 'stang.  Also I have found a'69 Mach 1that needs a restoration.. don't know if I can get the owner to sell or if wife will let me do a full restoration...
