Anyone have to get their windshield yet?

Any experiences with aftermarket glass, or should I stick with ford
car-lite sound screen?

I can get the ford glass from the dealer for $220 but I need to Find someone to install it.

Safelite quoted me 354.00 plus tax and service fees, but that is their oee (orignal equipment equivalent) glass.

Any advise would be appreciated.

I would go with the Ford Car Lite Sound Screen.  Stay original.

Sorry to say, I would go with the Ford glass. Ford is very well known for their glass. Not wavy, doesn't pit as much. But then I don't mind the cost for oem stuff.

OEM still the best.  Tried aftermarket (Safelite) on many different vehicles, just not the same fit/finish.  At least OEM is still available for these cars, wait till you get 10-15 years out!

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Definitely stay Ford OEM. Not only the quality referenced above, but the SoundScreen really decreases interior noise.

Thanks for the replies, I found a guy local to me that will install the ford glass if I provide it. Will update after install.

Safelite used OEM glass when they replaced mine.

I had mine replaced.  It's aftermarket and it's supposed to have the soundscreen in it.  They either installed it wrong or it's thinner than the OEM glass.  Randomly I get the black plastic/rubber cowl cover flapping against the windshield.  It's sounds like a kazoo.
You're probably better off with OEM as long as they install it correctly.
