Talked to Anthony after he spoke with the tuner. He said the tuner was not surprised and they had seen this issue on the shop explorer as well. He said it's out of fuel.....i asked him to speak with the tuner about changing the a/f ratio because a 10.2 is far too rich. Demanding less from the pump should make a difference but we shall see.

I do have track recorder stuff to upload but when i view the video on my computer it's showing just the recording not the torque app running with gauges....how do i get the complete video with the gauges and such on the computer?

They said they've seen this before?  I called and asked about the same issue and they told me that they hadn't heard of anyone having this issue and that they've tuned several daily drivers with the same tune with no problems.  Hmm...

I was told the same thing until they actually went with my notes and spoke to the tuner. Then the tuner informed them it was no mystery. It happens at 4500 rpms and last til 5200.
Even the shop explorer has had the same issue he said.
I know the increased boost requires more fuel however, pushing a 10.2 a/f ratio is beyond just safe. That's rich enough to cause premature failure of spark plugs not to mention the unneeded strain on the fuel pump.
An 11/1  A/F ratio would still be plenty safe and could solve the problem.

Hmmm... maybe they can adjust the tune. I know changing the plugs out didn't resolve the problem.

For at least a week i was told it was likely winter gas. That running the 91 v2 would clear it up but that did not work.
I also changed plugs, did not work and i ran 104 octane race fuel on every tune they sent me and it didn't help.
The problem is the tune. Either too much boost or just expecting too rich of a mixture or both.
I'm leaning on the too rich of a mixture 10.2 is far too rich.
I'd be happy if they would adjust the fuel enrichment so it's around 11/1 ratio and even that is still rich but plenty safe.
If that wouldn't clear up the problem then drop the boost 1-2lbs and it should be good to go at that point.
Once i get this video to convert "no luck thus far" i'll post it for everyone to view.

Way to go!
My PC wouldn't work but i have a 6 year old laptop i use for tuning only "hptuners for my chevys" and it worked just fine for me. Downloaded the programs as torque tells you too, restarted after the juggler or whatever it's called. Downloaded the last file and boom i was in business.

Always gotta have at least 1 "dinosaur" piece of tech around just for these times :)
2007 Ford Edge SEL, Powerstop F/R Brake Kit, TXT LED 6000K Lo & Hi Beams, W16W LED Reverse Bulbs, 3BSpec 2.5w Map Lights, 5W Cree rear dome lights, 5W Cree cargo light, DTBL LED Taillights

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

One time I got down to 950 PSI with my Flex.. Saw Lambda also jump a couple tenths to .84.  That's when I installed a KB Boost-a-pump.  With Torrie's revised tunes and the BAP, I have never been below 1,250, and found the one which produced the most HP, kept FRP above 1,400.  My issues always occurred in 2nd gear at above 5,000 RPM, and were most severe just before shifting into 3rd.  Even at peak RPM in 3rd it had recovered nicely, and in 4th at the traps, my FRP was fine.
2010 Red Candy/White EB Flex.. World's first 12 second Brick.. 12.904 @ 106.85 MPH - October 2011
2009 Spt. Red G8 GT - modded. best time 12.074 & 114.02 MPH
2008 White G8 GT - mods... 8.32 1/8 mi.

You wouldn't happen to have a how to on the boost a pump install would you? I need pressure!!!!

Mine is in a Flex.  Flex has the Fuel Pump relay in the "C" pillar on passenger side (Pillar just behind pass rear door). You hook BAP into just in front of that relay (engine side before relay, not LPFP side.) with one wire as I recall.  I would guess that that's where the relay is in the Explorer as in the SHO it's in the trunk way forward on pass side.  I would have to check which wire based on diagram.   Someone at Livernois or Lund or Unleashed should be able to tell you the correct wire.

The 2013's have a different LPFP capable of higher pressures than the 1st gen turbo SHO's.

Maybe there is just an issue with the tune. (I am untuned but that's around 500 psi higher baseline than 1st gen)

My car sees upwards of 2700 PSI @ wot.

More info in the comprehensive fueling thread.

It is the tune, the increased boost requires more fuel. My only point is they have it too rich. 11.2/1 would be a good place to start instead of hitting as rich as 10.2/1 at times like i do now.

Are they engaged and doing anything about the issue?

Last i spoke with Anthony"NO" He said he would ask the tuner about leaning the system to what i suggested of a 11.2/1 ratio but who knows...
Funny, the sho has a v7 tune and that seems to be what they did, lower the af ratio to 11.2/1 to cut demand on the pump.
It's pretty easy to adjust the power enrichment tables, it wouldn't take much time to fix it up at all.
