I dont know if the aftermarket community has flooded the ecoboost world with hundreds of options for plugs/wires/coils yet, but I wanted to get the generel opinion from you guys as to what plugs to buy for my 2010 SHO to try and cure this intermittent misfire problem and get the most out of the engine with the eventual methanol injection/ stage 5 tune from LMS.
Car just turned 40k if that makes a difference..

I just got some ngk ltxr something or another. They are a step colder and it's what I ran in my mazdaspeed3. They hold up very well.

That's what i've been using. Gap 'em to .030, or as close to that.

What is the best gap tool for these plugs?  I can only find the cheap ones around here.

Thanks for the info on the plugs BTW.  Pretty sure the thermostat and plugs are next for me.

There are lots of online shops that sell the ngks. I got mine from egdeautosport.com.

Picking up a set of the NGK plugs from advanced this afternoon.. I sent an email to LMS describing my problem with a random misfire and they seem to think it may be the extra boost the turbos produce with the 4+ tune may be causing enough to "blow out" the spark from one or more plugs. This, combined with the overwhelming incidence of the misfire being cured by new plugs, hoping it solves the problem for me... I want to get this car ready for Meth/Water injection and stage 5 tune!

I was running the stock 2010 plugs with my W/M system and 3 bar sensor and never had a mis-fire or other issues till I had an insulator break loose and slide up and down. Now run the stock 2011 & up plug at stock gap.  One has to be very careful with irridium plugs as you can easily damage them when changing the gap. Motorcraft irridium plugs are pre-gapped and state not to change the gap.  Needless to say, BPD is who I would go  with if you don't use stock motorcraft plugs.

so your saying the NGK plugs BPD recommended would be the way to go if not using motorcraft... or is there a obscure brand "BPD" your referring to? I already picked up my NGK LTR7IX-11's today, no one had any motorcraft in stock and autozone shows the same plug for all years, no change from 2010 to later engines.. so I figured NGK was the safe bet. Ill be doing the plugs and a T-stat in the morning.

BPD brand comes only in white with black trim...

You may be correct about current listings for EB car engines.  Ford had issues with the 2010 plugs and switched to a different motorcraft part # for 2011.

I also just bought a set of the BPD recommended NGK.

Seems fitting that I run the "BPD" brand plugs, seeing as how my SHO is white with black trim!!

I gapped all the plugs at .30" and will be fitting them in the morning, any tips I should know about, or is it a pretty standard spark plug change?

Hopefully this went smoothly for you. If you haven't done them yet, it's very simple. The back does require a bit of finagling, you will have to loosen the nut holding the pipe with the bpv's on them, and the harness by the pcv box is a bit of a pain.

Just want to make sure before I installed these and damage something, that they are OK for the 2014. Denso (5340) ITV22 Iridium Spark Plug. I'm looking for a step colder. Any difference from the 2010 to the 2014 for plugs? Thanks
