"Yes it wins,  only raced to 100 tho."
Unfortunately for me a single race from a roll brings in way too many variables for me to substantiate that the MS3 is faster. Provide me with hard numbers from test data to prove this and I will give you the credit that you are indeed right. Until then I am taking creedence in the numbers that do not even make this close race according to Car and Driver.

The OP said he lost, pretty clear that he wouldn't come on just saying that. No real debate required IMHO. I'm sure that in my Flex I can beat 99% of the MS3 but there's a few making big HP with the turbo upgrades and aux fueling. I believe there's some 11 second MS3 out there which is faster than any of our cars so far.

You are right. But... He also said that he left him the hit. MS3 is manual, so he was already in third gear. I presume the Flex was cruising, probably in D mode and when he saw the MS3 leaving (it was already with its turbos ready), the Flex still had to punch it (0.5 seconds delay) and the time the Flex react (throttle response), that is another almost one second. So, given that both cars would pull about the same, a 1-1.5 second lead is huge!!! The MS3 had the time to go from 60mph to 70mph while the Flex was already behind and 10mph slower... If they accelerate the same, the Flex would always be 10mph slower (more or less), but the point is that the MS3 would still be pulling.
I have a video on youtube of my SHO running 12.3 and I raced a modded GTR that ran 11.6. I had the jump with a better RT and he beat me by 3 lengths of car on the 1/4 mile.
People tend to forget and minimize the impact of getting the hit first. If it was the Flex hitting first and the MS3 after, I would bet he would catch the Flex, or at least it would take at least half a mile...

I will try to get a video next time... I suppose that would clear up the debate.

I would need numbers to prove to that a Mazdaspeed 3, that is down 100+ hp and front wheel drive, would actually be faster around a true road course. According to Car and Driver the Taurus SHO pulled .86g, the Mazdaspeed 3 pulled .87, when ran through the 300 ft. diameter skidpad. Unless you are running on an autocross track in a mall parking lot, the Taurus SHO is going to be faster around a track.

I've actually ran both the Mazdaspeed 3 and the SHO at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA. This course has a lot of twists and turns and alot of elevation change. I smoked my SHO brakes in 1 lap. I think the SHO would catch up on straights, but would always lose ground on the twisties!

I don't think you'd have the same result with a 2013.

Remember, all street races are conducted in Mexico or some other locale.

Also, it would be VERY foolish to try and "race" any more, I've decided.  There are hundreds if not thousands of cameras nowadays.  It is a much different world (and I'm not a fan) compared with, say back when I owned a sporty MS3 in 2007.  Now, if I pegged the speedometer at 150+ like I did my MS3 on the way to work today these days, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get away with it.

This whole big-brother thing is one reason why I don't have a fancy sports car now.
I don't have an EB but I am an avid modder and happy to help the community and learn/grow.  Pretty good with audio and wheels, my build and discussion threads are here in the forum.  2013 Flex AWD N/A

I would hope not. The 2013 should be better than the 2010!!

The 2013 has 10 more HP? So about 7 whp. Not quite sure there would of been much a difference.

2014 SHO still shows 365 HP on Ford website.

But I think he means the brakes were upgraded in '13.

Correct. Thanks for the assist!

That being said, I think Ford is playing fast and loose with the power ratings, probably to keep the insurance industry off their ass.

My car ran 13.7@102.5 stock minus the K&N that was heat soaking over 135 degrees. The other 2 times were very close.

When I plug all the numbers into the NHRA horsepower calculators, it says crank horsepower is 471. I think that's excessive but im not sure 365 is correct either.

Hopefully i can get back next week to run with the stock intake and my E-85 blend.

I thought I saved the calculator I used but I can't find it. Hopefully it's on my desktop.

If I forgot to save it, I'm gonna punch myself in the balls.
