I just ordered and received the AutoTalky OBDII bluetooth adaptor http://autotalky.com/. I am using it with Torque on my Android and it is straightforward. Now all I need is to create a complete layout of all the info I want.

AutoTalky.com also allows you to log all you vehicle data to their site and share it with trusted mechanics.

I hope it works out well for you.  Keep us up to date on how it all goes.

20$ is a great deal compare to the 150$ (in Canada at least) for the MX. Is there any lag in data display? I know my OBD2 to wifi had a 1.5-2 seconds lag with dash command on my iPhone. I am now moving to Android so it might be a good choice for me!

I have no lag on the MX.  The tach looks like it's wired.

4 DR says there is a difference in responsiveness... Perhaps he can chime in as to the one he is using.  Know it costs around $100.

If memory serves me correctly, I believe the "higher end" Bluetooth devices, have a faster refreshing rate, which in turn, results in less perceived lag in what appears on the display.

Or at least that's how I understood it.

I have the cheap one and the MX, the MX has no lag compared to the cheaper one. The cheap one it is noticeable, the MX if there is any I can't tell.

I got one of these and seems to be working fine.

Paid $20 for it.

I figured I would just get one for experimental purposes (save money) and see if I like how it works.  Then I would get better quality, but since this one works great I figure run it till it breaks.

I tried the adapter from AutoTalky.com with Torque and had no lag that I could detect. It seems to work fine with my phone and tablet.

I bought a Vgate iCar IV350 OBD2 to bluetooth. It works well, very slight lag (.3-.4 sec maybe) and has a button to shut it down when not in use. 18$ or so.

Has anyone tried the ODBLX? From what I've read its supposed to be just as fast as the MX, but I wasn't sure if the MX was required for Fords.

http://www.scantool.net/scan-tools/smart-phone/obdlink-lx.html

The last paragraph is what makes me wonder if the MX is required:

"Consider purchasing OBDLink MX if you need access to the proprietary Ford & GM vehicle networks (Ford MSC and GMLAN) in addition to the standard OBD-II protocols. "
