Don't you hate that?  I've spent half my time at the track waiting for clean ups.

SoCalSHO

Spent an hour for clean-up, turns out a guy wrecked. Although he was Pretty good, they transported him to the hospital anyways.

Today I ran my SCT Stage 4 tune. Times were consistent with running the 4+ on the Mycal two weeks prior. Doesn't seem to be any benefit to running one over the other. Kinda disappointed. Last chance will be getting the XV-1. Although the Mycal 4+ did get me .002 better times, literally.

I'm wondering if lowering the boost a half a pound=extending the boost to the shift point.  Could it be that extra half pound gets the mass rolling quicker?  Do we have a wash here?  How do your 60' compare?

They are pretty identical. I could have been running the same tune on the same night.

I guess the ~9 foot difference in the D/A really makes a difference. The Stage 4+ tune got me .002 better 1/8 mile time....meh.

I posted earlier regarding a half pound of boost loss.  Actually, my last testing showed just over 14 psi with the 4+.  I was getting 14 with the 4.  My first test with the 4+ only showed 13.5  So, scratch that theory.

That's close to what I ran with my 2010 Flex (63,000 mi) - DA 2,700... Cedar Falls, IA Raceway... ALT 850  (REALLY BAD AIR - 81 DEG)   Best time was 8.591 @81.66  My 60' was a 1.942...  This was with Torrie's canned tune - 93 octane... No special tuning...  I am running my custom CAI (NO GAIN)  catted PPE downpipes, NESHO mid-pipe and smaller wheels which from what some say HURT one's times.

I also ran Livernois 4+ tune on 2 runs and my times were .2 and 2 mph slower.(8.846 & 8.854 - 79.46 & 79.21 respectively, with  60's of 1.983 & 2.024)  YOU COULD FEEL THE DIFFERENCE!!!!!!  (Acquired both tunes for this new strategy code from Torrie and Rick @ Livernois, way back in May 2012...)

I  actually had 4 runs with Torrie's tune that were  under 8.65.  Later, when it cooled to 75 deg and about 2,450 DA, I started hopping with Torrie's tune... My speeds were still over 79 mph but bouncing adds a second to time! Think my Michelin Pilot SS aren't happy at the strip with T/C off...  Conti DW's and Nitto DR's are much better!

This is the first time I have dragged my Brick since my long block transplant in April 2012.
Just wish they were showing 1/4 mi times, which they usually do.

Meth and slicks are next for my Bradenton FUN!
2010 Red Candy/White EB Flex.. World's first 12 second Brick.. 12.904 @ 106.85 MPH - October 2011
2009 Spt. Red G8 GT - modded. best time 12.074 & 114.02 MPH
2008 White G8 GT - mods... 8.32 1/8 mi.

Don't the Pilot SS tires have stiffer sidewalls than the DWs, EBB?  Could that be a factor at the track?

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

That's probably the cause..  What is interesting is that my 60's early on, before bouncing that night were better than with the Conti DW's. Suppose that could have been due to PPE downpipes allowing Turbos to spool up quicker.  I was power braking to about 1,700 RPM vs 2,000+. Later I lowered that to 1,200 and still bounced.  One of the later runs I put T/C back on and that helped.  It was too late to play with tire pressures.  Perhaps I would have done better (not bounced) with slightly higher ones.  G8 on stock rear's doesn't like pressures below 28, even though one spins like crazy if you launch too hard. (Till I went with diff. axles on it, it would bounce too).  Bouncing is VERY hard on drive train.
