Just placed an order for my fully loaded, deep impact blue 2014 SHO w/ performance package. Don't have a build date yet but I'm already looking for modifications. I currently own a 2011 Camaro SS/RS that is heavily modded. I've done all the work myself and its been a fun project. I sold it privately for quite a bit of $$ that will help fund the new SHO build. My Camaro is a top award, best show winner and has gained national attention. Its time for a change and I wanted something with more luxury, family friendly as I'm a single mom of 7 yr old twins but something fast and fun too. I think the SHO will be perfect. Im already planning window tint, exhaust, CAI, carbon fiber mods, lowering kit and a chin splitter when I take delivery. Problem is I'm not having much luck finding many of these items. Anyone have any recommendations on where to look and what brands are best? I plan to make this a show and track car. Thanks and look forward to getting to know you all as my build begins in 6-8 weeks

BPD can give you a complete list of appearance modifications
For performance you're in luck, the parts are starting to come out of the woodwork. I'm testing the first set of true turbo upgrades this week, BPD will get the 2nd set. Tuning is available via Livernois and Unleashed with others working in the background right now. Depending on whether you need to pass emissions or not there's catless downpipes which are now getting pretty cheap or if you need to pass emissions with a readiness check I suggest the PPE pipes because they will definitely pass and only cost maybe 2 or 3 HP max compared to catless but cost a bit more for true cats, not bullet cats.
I'd suggest a filter for now, my company is working on a new intake as well as hot pipes (turbo to IC and IC to TB) to supplement that new turbos (stock plastic and rubber parts don't like the extra boost).
Exhaust is up to you, cutouts are being used along with Borla, Magnaflow, etc etc etc :)

BTW, welcome to the board!!!

:WELCOME:  Glad you've joined us!  Hope you find your time here informative and enjoyable.  I would think the first thing you would want to do is look into a tune for your new SHO...we have several tuners who do and outstanding job, but it's really up to you to pick what you'd like.  Also, downpipes, exhaust should be on your build list.  I'm sure the others here will give you more ideas as the day goes on.  Welcome, again glad you've joined us!

Welcome!  Nice choice.  There are more and more upgrading mods coming out.  Eibach and H&R have spring sets.  Livernois and Unleashed are two popular tuners. Corsa, Magnaflow and Borla have catbacks.  There are also a couple guys making down pipes, turbo upgrades, etc.  These are just what comes immediatly to mind.  There are more.  Hang around, check out some threads and you'll see all the info and feedback.  I hope you get your new SHO sooner, rather than later so you can start enjoying it like the rest of us do!

Thanks for the fast replies!! I do plan a tune but not for awhile, I don't want to destroy my warranty just yet with such a new car. I usually tune around 10k miles.

I understand your warranty concerns, I had them to, but I waited until about 6500 miles to tune my car and I could have kicked myself for waiting that long. The tunes have proven to be reliable and as far as I know there hasn't really been any warranty problems resulting from the car being tuned.  Still I understand your desire to wait a bit, but just be aware, you may be mad at yourself if you wait 10,000 miles....

Lol oh I understand! I waited that long to tune my Camaro snd its such a huge difference. I'm gonna try to hold off but you know how that goes!

LOL I knew you were going to get an argument about waiting to tune.  Happens all the time.  Like Mark said, You'll kick yourself for waiting.  I did mine at 500.  Now, I have 5k.  A lot of the members have tuned fairly early and have tens of K's on them.  On the other hand, I respect your position to be safe.  In the grand scheme, you want reliable transportation and no big "surprise" expenses.  Just do it when you feel comfortable.  ;D

Welcome!

If this is your DD, you may not be interested in the "Full Race" options now becoming available.
Lots of neat things that will still give you 90% of the fun.

Could pick up a Ninja as a DD and do a twin sidecart mod.  Then go "Full Race" on the SHO :)

If tuned:  Take note of the strategy code as you return to stock (including 3 bar MAP to 2 bar MAP) -> take car in & get it serviced -> check strategy code when you get car back -> have tuner update your tune if the strategy code has changed -> reload tune -> ENJOY!

Yes it will be a DD. Currently have 2 cars, my 2011 Camaro SS and a 2013 Cruze. My Camaro isnt a daily driver and Im tired of paying for 2 cars. Making the Camaro a daily driver isnt an option so Ive decided to sell both and get one fast, fun car as a daily driver. Itll be a show n go car :)

H&R will give you a lower look than Eibachs but will be a little bit rougher with occasional pogo.  I went with H&R and am very happy with them.  It seems that most are very happy with the major tuners out there, don't think you can go wrong with them.

Exhaust will be your tough choice.  You will hear lots of opinions on them.  I went with the full Stainless Works system and couldn't be happier.  Coming mostly from loud V8 cars I was afraid of having an annoying V6 raspy sound.  While some of the other systems sound nice at idle and daily driving, they still sound raspy at wot.

Thank you. That's a concern of mine with exhaust. My Camaro is a V8, tuned, exhaust, cai, etc and just rumbles! I don't want a junky sound but know I won't get the v8 sound either but something a little meaner sounding. I also heard you can get rid of the turbo silencers, ever heard of that?

Either the noise generator, or what some of the F-150  owners talk about in their intakes. They are not on the SHO. The noise generator is. Some are replacing them with legit BOV's to hear the woosh. Remember, this is a sport luxury. I don't think loud is what Ford was going for when designing this car for the most part.

Welcome aboard! If you really want to hear your turbo's, you'll need a complete exhaust from the turbo's back. Other then that CAI will give you slight increase in sound.
