Today my son and I tore into the rabbit damage. everything we needed was on the donor harness.
My son used to be a tech at a Cat dealer, and did a lot of electrical custom work on machines for the railroad. He is a wiz and I just stayed out of his way, lots of very small butt connectors, solder and shrink tubing, way too tedious for my old eyes! Maybe an hour later I was test beating the car, no miss, power is back, no CEL!
Thanks Greg

Thank you for the reply and links, I talked with my nephew who is a service tech and he suggested I make a list of all damaged wires and go to Ford for repair pigtails.
I thought that would be a lot of running around, my closest Ford dealer is 20 miles.
So I found a 2016 engine harness on eBay from an Explorer sport eco-boost. It arrived yesterday and looks like it has everything we need plus more. I will report on how it goes, thanks again.
My war on rabbits continues!!

Maintenance, Oil, and Fluids / 2016 Taurus Police Ecoboost pr...
Last post by PDSHO - January 04, 2025, 02:16:18 PM
Hello, I have a 2016 Police Taurus with eco-boost engine. I live in the country and have been having trouble with rabbits getting up in the engine bay and chewing up wires.
The car has a misfire and will only rev to around 2200 RPM. So far I have found that they have chewed off at least one wire to a fuel injector, wires to both BOV towards the back side of the engine, and a bundle of wires just above the High pressure fuel pump.
I have been totally confused looking for the correct harness for this engine. My son is really good with wiring and thinks we can fix what I have, if I can find an upper engine harness, and maybe we could even take wires and connectors from a donor. Thoughts?
Thanks Greg

Quote from: clearlycobbet on December 12, 2024, 06:45:27 PMDoes anyone know how to do this on a 10-12? I have a 2010 MKS Ecoboost and am willing to take apart the dash to experiment. @jmr061 - you interested?
havent seen anyone post on a project like this for the 10-12, including on shoforum.com. try posting your interest there as a new topic.
