I have searched this forum and Tasca and can't seem to find an answer to my question. A buddy of mine has a 2016 FLEX Limited and the shroud that surrounds the wheel controls around his steering wheel is black like in the attached photo below. My SHO shroud is silver. Looking to swap the piece since the wheel is the same. Does anyone have insight to a part number or where I can find this piece?
I think it's an optional feature IIRC. Z
Leather steering wheel with Meteorite Black bezels, cruise, audio and 5-way controls(Appearance Package).
Ahh good call Z. Well... the search begins!

Looking at Tasca it shows it as part of the steering wheel and not a separate part.

Yeah that is what I concluded as well. I guess I am going to have to search for a wrecked appearance package at the junk yard.
I tried to cannibalize an MKS wheel for the same reason, but unfortunately the Taurus and MKS use slightly different airbag contours, and the wheels are slightly different as well.
As others have mentioned, the steering wheel is a one piece assembly. The only way to swap it would be a full steering wheel swap. Alternatively, if you are really good at paint/prep, you could properly prep the wheel and use a plastic specific/interior specific paint to change your wheel up.
Plus side is wheels for these cars seem to be relatively cheap. I purchased a used '14 MKS wheel for $40, and a '14 SHO wheel for $60 through Ebay.
Downside is they rarely pop up for sale, but I haven't seen one listed for over $100. Now, the chances of finding an appearance package flex wheel use....that's a crap shoot.
Found one on eBay. I'll say that black surround looks very nice

Unfortunately the paint is chipping off the part of interest....badly

Would also appear this is the PN for above wheel (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170915/8f47d71491fb5c9834283261636cda5e.png)

That looks familiar. LOL
I have to say, that's a really good deal. I paid more than that for a OEM leather wheel for my crown vic. Probably because those cars have a really strong following. Parts get gobbled up quickly.

Too late. I already own that wheel. That's my auction. Doesn't work due to the Lincoln airbag being shaped differently and some other subtle differences
I basically have two wheels I can't use
