Title: Anyone ran green goo after tire flat?
Post by: Shonuff1140 on August 04, 2013, 12:37:01 AM
After a small puncture in the center of the tire and you use the green goo will it screw the tires or sensors afterwards so that you can only make it to a garage or ford dealership or is it meant to be a rather long term sealant?

I believe I remember reading that that stuff will mess up the sensors in the wheel, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Its good in a pinch, and Ive used it in one of my GM's without it damaging the TPM sensors, though I have heard the potential is there.

If you do use it, be a huge friend to the tech who pulls the tire off after you use it and give him a heads up.  It can make quite a mess popping the bead, especially if you dont know its there.

I used tire filler kit that comes with PP cars. They have a white color goop (I don't know if Ford's is different for the green stuff) but I had the tire patch the next day and the dealer tech said the white goop wouldN'T hurt anything.
