Title: P0455 - Evaporative Emission System Leak...
Post by: MeanKS on June 21, 2017, 08:48:47 PM
Engine light came on and this is the code Autozone pulled up.

How bad is this?  the car is running pretty normal, only thing i notice is slight hesitation at idle on occasion.

my engine is still under warranty (Ford replaced it due to a thrown rod almost 2 years go), but knowing my luck this will probably not be covered.

How long can i go before addressing this?  I just had a very big expense (house related) so the wallet is a little tight atm...

Probably purge and/or pcv valve issue.  As an emissions issue, the problem should be covered under emissions warranty, which is generally longer than the powertrain warranty.  DIY fix is not that expensive, but have the dealer fix it.
