Title: Dealership woes
Post by: Macgyver on June 17, 2017, 01:44:38 PM
I had my 2015 SHO put in for warranty work(Parking Aid, Blown rear speakers, trans relearn) and since it was there and just over the 30k mile mark. I had the trans flushed, PTU fluid changed , and Induction cleaning performed. Mind you....... A few days before that. I had changed the Oil, oil filter, AND Air filter. The air box was fine.......

Well I also had the Bright Light DRL kit to install which came while the car was in the shop. Got the car Thursday evening. Everything seemed ok. Got up Friday and started the DRL install. Its not as easy as they lead you to believe but thats another story. So to get to the driver side turn signal wire. You have to remove the whole air box. To my dismay. The lower air box was destroyed....... Gee I wonder what happened since they need to remove the Airbox to get to the Trans Oil Fill level check thingy.

I went to the dealer today to talk with the Manager and Service manager. All broken parts are being ordered and will be installed free of charge. Including a set of free OEM mud flaps.

I guess the factory tech didnt think I would be changing the air filter since I had just changed it. Scum bag.

Also since they replaced 2 factory rear speakers. I looked at the trunk. The carpet or under rear shelf cover was sagging. Their Velcro tape wasnt even close to sticking.

Great dealership huh?

:o  I didn't think it was THAT easy to put the hurt on the airbox!  Well at least they didn't clean your SHO with a dirty rag!

BiGMaC's/Adam's writeup on the DRL install did not help?

Oh I read that. Looked at the Youtube vids. It looks easy til you get into it. I thought one hour but turned out to be 3 hours since there is way more not described in the directions and tutorials. Long runs of unprotected wire in engine bays is a no no. Had to get 1/4 split loom. It also doesnt say you gotta remove the airbox and Throttle body intake piping to access the turn signal and head lamp signal wires.

Plus it started off with a DEAD puddle lamp. He has not contacted me back yet and its been since Friday. 2 Emails one via regular and one Web based. Not too happy. And he is a Forum Vendor? Tsk Tsk.

No he is not a forum vendor.  Have you tried his Facebook page?  I have gotten quicker responses that way if email/phone did not work.  Don't know if he is on vacation tho.

3rd Phone call he finally answered. Said he will ship the new puddle light and wants the old one back.

Now, Mind you 3 emails he did not respond to. 2 Direct mail and 1 off the website. I dont know what operation he is running but thats really bad customer service. Not responding to voice messages and or emails.

He was out on vacation June 1st to 7th.

Not being a smart ass or anything. Just an informational question. What is the difference between a true Forum vendor and having your Company name in the forum vendor list thread area.

Is there anything special about the True Forums vendors like what do they do to attain that etc ?

@-Macgyver did you receive a tracking number? I think many of us have had an unpleasant experience or two in the past and lesson learned.

Nothing special.  Rather it is an opportunity for vendors to interact directly with their audience/customers.  There are vendors who have come & gone, the information remains available for viewing purposes.

Sorry to hear of all of your issues.  I can say that my experience with Dan was amazing to say the least.  I had an issue with hyper flash and when I called his number he answered right away and we did a FaceTime call so he could see what was going on.  He sent me a new kit right away to address the issue I was having.  I know we can't all be on point all the and one good doesn't erase a bad.  Just wanted to share my experience with him.  Good luck getting everything squared away.

Thanks for the responses.

Dan said he would ship a new puddle light. We shall see. No tracking numbers were given.

I did get my car back from the dealer. They installed a new air box and fixed other items they messed up.

I made a statement and they actually followed through. I asked for and got Free Mud Flaps(installed too) and a Trunk Liner/protector. For all my troubles.

It still has to go back. The rear sun shade/rear deck is vibrating on bass notes.
