Title: Engine compartment
Post by: MKSecobeast on June 16, 2017, 12:39:22 PM
Has anyone came across any good websites/ products to spruce up the engine compartment? Oil caps, different dipstick handles etc. I saw the exobeast billet battery tie down item, but they're sold out..

Feel free to post pics of your compartment if you've spruced it up etc

Tell me about that splitter!   Do you see any benefit in pushing air up and into the engine bay?

I got inspired after seeing bdp's engine cover. It's not done yet, but close. I still need to straighten out the lines and go over them etc.

This was my first time using plastic spray paint. I didn't turn out as nice as I would have liked. I'm thinking about just buying an SHO cover and being done with it. I like the MKS better than the SHO, but I like to incorporate little bits of the SHO on my car sometimes. It's like the best of both worlds. lol

Coming along nicely there MKS.

I forgot to answer your question about my cover..... it's a true, one-off, real CF cover.

Apologize for the delay. Busy week for me on the homefront. Kept me sidetracked.

Funny story about that CF cover.

That was like the 4th mod I did on the car, way, way, waayyyyyyy back in the day. Used a local vendor near me, who had a bear of a time doing it. Long story short, after several attempts on his part, and me tossing more $$$ at him, all of a sudden..... POOF! Disappears.

No return calls, no return text, or emails. Pissed that I was out BOTH money, as well as my OEM cover he used to assist in it's fabrication, I turned to a friend in my field after having performed some investigation of my own.

Well, that friend, who was employed by the municipality where this vendor resided, had arrest warrant paperwork drawn up, and was this/close from having a judge sign off on it, and I let that be known in all the various circles out by me.....

When all of a sudden, magically this vendor reaches out, out of the blue, and asks where we can meet and that he has my cover completed.

Needless to say, that was the last job he did, and is no longer working in the industry.

As far as the caps, my local audio vendor sourced those for me. I think he mentioned something having found them from another company he uses. Guess they're like a universal application type thing.
