Anyone that is attending the carlise ford nationals going to beaver springs dragway Friday night? I was thinking I might come to carlise on Saturday, thought maybe we could get some people to go to the track Friday night.

I looked at the schedule, looks like test and tune Friday night. I have never raced there though. Cecil county dragway, and maple grove are closer to me.
I see you are from lancaster, I live in Mountville, but I am from Lancaster

I will ask the group I'm staying with, to see if they want to go up to Beaver Springs. Takes about 1.5hrs to get up there. Friday is when I have always run. There are 3 classes. True Street, which I run. Modified Street and Outlaw. We run a .500 PRO tree. So its all Yellow and then green. Its a good time. Also that night is my towns Top Ten list race. So its up to you guys. Be warning, you car will be plastered with bugs till you get home.

So do we have any definite people that will go Friday night? Bamsho... do they do street racing all night? Or is it some sort of an organized race? Down at Cecil on fridays it's open from 6-10... run what u brung.. nothing but your ego on the line... I know you do a lot of the actual organized races.

Yes Rich and Kevin Dostie are in to go. Kinda coordinating between here, Facebook, and Shoforum. Im going too. So that will make more. Maybe talking with giys there, we could get more. Open time shots are from 5 till 7, then qualifying time shots then eliminations. But its a good time. Would love to see a bunch of SHO's go, esp since some of you are fsster than mine.

Does it get crowded on Friday nights?

Some Friday's it is real busy, and some Friday nights it's not. I will need to look at the schedule to see what's going on that weekend.
For w/e it's worth, I received my official credentials and entry passes, etc. for this year's 2017 Ford National's event.
Looks like the Taurus' have been placed at the very front of the "Yellow Field".
Here is an official map of this year's layout......

Getting excited as the event is drawing closer and closer.
I have confirmed hotel reservations respectively.
See everyone in a couple of weeks!!

Update guys. BSD for next Friday night, may be out. They had a real bad night last night, one wreck, couple blown motors. So it took them to the midnight curfew and they didn't get all the elimination rounds in. I was told they want to finish up last night, next Friday night and run the regular Friday night. So may not get many runs in. Just heads up.

I'll toss this out there once again.....
Anyone desiring to caravan to Carlisle, I plan on leaving sometime between 4am & 5am (Thursday morning). According to Google Maps, it's a 10hr drive or so (not accounting for any potty breaks/pit stops, etc. I'd like to arrive Thursday afternoon sometime.
I will be getting on I-80 from I-355.
Anyone coming West of Chicago, and heading East, LMK.
Likewise, anyone East of Chicago, heading East, LMK as well. Perhaps we can coordinate.
Cell phone available via PM for those interested.

Was a super weekend. Great weather, awesome friends, cant wait till next year. We did want to go racing, but all the walking and sun just worn us all out, and got very tired. Some of us are working on making it bigger for next year.
I was super happy for the judging. Very nice older gentlemen showed up with a super clean 96 Gen 3. 45,000 miles on it. Here are the voting results. The older cars still got it, having owned 2 Gen 3's, I was super happy for him.

20+ Years Later :thumb:
Well folks, the 2017 Ford National's have come and gone, and a great time was had by all! Wonderful to see such a turnout from all various model years, trim levels, etc.
The memories created were plenty, and I'm thankful to many many individuals for having made this event, the experience that it was!
BIG Thanks to Brian & Kris Michael (BAM_SHO) as well as to Mark H. (mjhpadi) for their involvement and assistance throughout. Without their help, the show wouldn't have been what it was for me personally.
I was overwhelmed by all the support, as well as all the things to do and see, not only at the fairgrounds, but also in/around the Carlisle area. Fun times for sure! Look forward to doing it again.
Also, HUGE Thanks to all those who catapulted my SHO into it's 1st Place Award for the "Modified" category! Very thankful for the attention, and I only hope I can continue representing the Taurus/SHO platform in the best light possible! Thank you!
Moving along, a few pics to post here, then I'll include the link to the dedicated album, so as to not eat up too much forum data, and y'all can peruse through at your own leisure. Enjoy!

I hope everyone enjoyed this event, as much as I did. I know for me personally, I'll never forget all the looks on people's faces when they viewed my SHO for the 1st time. The positive reactions, compliments, and in some cases, utter amazement, from all age groups, walks of life, etc. was priceless. Keeps me fueled for even more to come in the future! --------Mike
Glad you were able to make it, the weather cooperated, and all that :D Sounds & looks like great fun!
