I have a 2011 Lincoln MKS with ecoboost that I have never had to add oil to between oil changes, but on a recent trip (950 miles over 10 days) the car was over a quart and half short. I checked the oil before the trip so I know the level was good, but when I got home and filled the car with gas I couldn't leave the station because the car kept stalling and the oil light came on, no check engine or other idiot lights. My car was towed down the street and the service manager claimed the only thing he could find wrong was it was over a quart and a half short of oil. I have no puddles in the driveway and I don't leave a smoke trail. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Have you checked the intercooler? The stalling might be related to oil ingestion. The turbo intake piping is probably holding oil as well.
And welcome!
Thanks,
I am taking the car to a Ford dealer next week, they may have more experience with the twin turbo. I ran several of the TSB by the service manager but he didn't think that they applied.
Best of luck! Lincoln dealers in general have more experience with the Ecoboost platform, so if the Ford dealer is not satisfactory, hop on over to the Lincoln dealer. Better yet if they are standalone dealerships.
