Title: Recent owner of a '14 Taurus SHO
Post by: Mkt8891 on October 01, 2016, 10:00:50 PM
My name is Mike, picked up a 2014 Taurus SHO 2 weeks ago. It's my first V6, turbo, and Ford. I absolutely love it so far. The previous owner installed an Airaid intake, don't know if it actually improved anything. It won't be the only upgrade I make just have to start saving up for them. I hope to find helpful topics to help with questions in the future.

Welcome to the EB community, Mike, glad to have ya here!  The Airaid can definitely help, just need to make sure it seals to the hood properly (use a chalk to outline).  Airaid does make an extended seal if you need it, and the seal should be installed correctly (many people do not).  Also consider insulating the box, adhesive-backed insulation such as you find at the home stores works fine.

What other mods are you considering, and what other rides have you had/modded?  Def put up pics of one & all :D

I definitely agree with SHOdded and personally installed an upgraded taller seal which Airaid was kind enough to send it for free and here's a pic for comparison and the seal should be installed facing [outwards].  Z  (http://i.imgur.com/vn1fBRvh.png)

Thanks for the info, will be picking some up soon.
Mods I am considering, down pipes, exhaust, hot pipes, tuner, and depending on $$ in the future upgraded turbos.
