I went to remove the plastic engine cover on my 14 SHO today and noticed something fall out. I retrieved a small cap that has a pink O-ring. It looks to be from the drive-by-wire throttle body that covers the shaft end. It didn't look damaged or broken, but it was very difficult to press back into place. Even though it had 4 clips, I never felt any positive clicking sensation once it was re-installed. It seemed like I was trying to overcome a lot of pressure from the O-ring seal as I was trying to press it into place.
Has anyone else experienced this? I can't figure out how the cap fell out as I've never touched the throttle body assembly.
I assume you are referring to the part missing in these photos:

Appears to not impact performance:

Thanks. I found a BBK video for the S197 GT showing the motor swap. It's covering the spring for the plate return, and on the BBK it has to be swapped over. I'm amazed that these are popping off on the SHO. The cap on my GT has stayed on tight for 10 years.
Yeah, IDK why it does ...
Mines been MIA for months now. Found it the first time but the second time it must have found the road.
Sent using smoke signals.
I popped it back in (after a lot of force/effort) and I went to look for it a few days later only to see that it's gone. I went to inspect the factory throttle body on my 07 Mustang GT and the cap is still on there with the factory wax pencil markings. I wonder if the cap flies off due to boost?
