Title: Touchpad Code Lost
Post by: Wardog692 on July 26, 2016, 12:28:03 PM
Hey guys, so I bought my SHO recently and it didn't come with the code for the keyless entry touchpad. Does anyone know where to find the code and/or how to reset it? It's a minor thing, but I'd like to at least know that if I accidentally lock my keys in, I can still get in.

Thanks!

Need to figure it out for my MKS too.  Hoping there is a way.

The dealer can look it up. If it is like the fusions the security (or gateway, i dont remember clearly) module also has it printed on a sticker on the module's casing.

For the fusion you can also get it if you have both keys. Perhaps it is the same for other late model fords as well.

Used to be the code was on the passenger compartment fuse panel, that's worth checking.   Note the prev owner may have had that code reset by the dealer, and so it may not work.  But, here's to hoping :)

Also, based on SHOforum posts, the owner's manual normally comes with a creditcardsized plastic piece with the keycode on it.  Ford dealers may be able to look up the original code for you if you can't find that piece.

Aha, I can answer this, because I just found it last night.  My new (used) SHO didn't come with the card either.  The factory code sticker on my 2015 SHO is mounted on a box under the dash near the parking brake pedal.  You can also set a personal code, once you have the factory code.

When I bought my SHO from the dealer, they said I would just be able to take it to FORD and they would be able to get it. Said there wouldn't be a problem as long as you have the registration.

This is correct. Ford has been doing this for years. my 90,97, and 10 SHO all had the code located in this area.

This is correct. Though the factory code can not ever be changed you will need it to set another personalized code.

For future reference, make sure you keep a copy of that somewhere. I was in today and figured id ask what ford wanted to get me that code (i couldnt find mine at the time and the one on the box by the emergency brake didn't work) and the quoted me $70. For a 5 minute job. Luckily i had a spare i remembered written in my ford book holder thingamajigger.
